Mi is the market leader, Realme is the market disruptor. Realme’s onslaught has left Redmi dazed.
Redmi 8 with SD439, Note 8 with SD665 – both have downgraded their CPU from previous years model.
Good for us. We can purchase current models with better configuration at discounted prices until next one arrives
Redmi note 7 pro @ 9000 (even less) or realme 3 pro @ 9000 (even less) was much better deals
i do not understand who even buys the “redmi” series ( not redmi note). Quite simply, 1 gen behind note is available cheaper, especially during sales, so why this low end,i think only ppl who dont understand anything abt phones buy

Redmi 7 at 5000Rs was much better at previous sale
redmi 7 was with 2gb ram on sale which is not sufficient for later androids – and so it was on sale – the 3gb version was 8k on sale (without discounts)
I dont think even redmi 8 with 439 processor is sufficient. Good for only light user and for lite use, 2 gb ram is sufficient and no need to waste more 2000Rs. If u want to spend 7K, better spend 1k more and buy note series

Redmi 8 has weak Snapdragon 439 processor.
Redmi 7 has a better Snapdragon 632 processor.
redmi 7 3gb-32gb price is 8570, whereas redmi 8 is 7999 with 4gb 64gb
Also SD 439 or SD 632 difference is only 5% (632 better) – dont go by logic 632 > 439
also surprising sd 439 is 12nm vs 632 is 14nm (lower is better)
just dont compare with nursery kg maths

Why the hell are they walking in the footsteps of realme and reducing screen resolution to 720p of every other phone that comes. Even a year old redmi 6 pro which was mi A2 lite had 1080p screen. Now this year idiots gave a 720p screen in the main A3 phone. Realme has really lowered the standard for Xiaomi.
Lower screen resolution increaees performance and battery backup. This segment is for normal casual users not for gamers or heavy users. So its acceptable at this price as you don’t compromise on display quality. 720p has respectable pixel density. Also manufacturer has to make it affordable to sell it to masses that’s why 4GB /64GB combinations is on offer at such low price.. If you go back 4Gb/64 GB combinations was selling above 13k last year. I think More RAM and More Storage is better option to go than 1080p over 720p under ₹8k. I think manufacturers should have provided 5.8" screen as there is hardly any option under 6" display and hence can Differentiate “Redmi and Redmi Note” with different size product line up as it was before till redmi 6 line up. I agree A3 should have 1080p as it is priced above ₹10k. They have done it to sell more Redmi note line as they earn way more with Pre-installed Junk Apps and InBaked MIUI Ads.
Mi A3 has PenTile matrix oled display with 286 ppi which translates to pixelization and sub optimal text. Avoid this phone.
