Shops cannot charge VAT extra on discounted product

The apex consumer body has ruled that shops can’t charge extra VAT on items sold on discount price, which is rebate on the MRP that includes all taxes and cess.

I know it is not a hot deal but next time when you shop you can always argue to shop manager and deny payment of VAT.
