Hey, I also received damaged broken tv. Now its clear that this seller is selling fake products on shopclues. I will beat this seller if my money was not refunded.

Oh dear… as i feared, seller seems like a scamster. Upload a pic on www.tinyp…om and share here. We’ll take him to task. No doubt. Let everyone post their reviews here. Quickly open a buyer protection case with shopclues within 10 days if you got damaged piece.

A picture is worth a thousand words. These pictures will put a huge dent on the consumer sentiment of these shopping websites. They should resolve the issues immediately without hassle or suffer negative publicity. Lets share these images here and tell shopclues to see their products here.

We should also open a forum to deal and campaign with these kinds of after sales issues. Can admin and mods think of something??? With enough exposure, we can take it to the shopping portals directly the common concerns faced. Like not getting microsd cards in AT&T LG Optimus G deal. With enough buyers who bought from the same deal raising voices together and threatening to file consumer court cases together, we can totally flex them to act properly regarding buyer issues.

A “deals” kind of search window where dimers can upload their images of defective items received should be a good start. Or individual webpages for shopping websites (like coupons), where any dimer can upload an image of defective item received should be a really good ethical policing for these portals.

By the way, can i open a credit card dispute form against this?? I’ve seen intentional banks (forms online) allow opening a dispute against defective items received.

You are right bro. Even i’ll not shop from these guys again for consumer electronics. Better to stick with flipkart or shop offline for that. The thing is that these scammers are intentionally dumping damaged goods. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_evil.gif this was first and last time that i’ll go through this.

Thank God i didn’t read those instructions. Anyway wall mounting was not necessary for me. That’s why immediately opened after receiving and plugged it in. Reported this to shopclues so early that their website was not updated as delivered. I had to do it manually and then raise an issue. So, maybe payment is not released to the seller yet. That’s not a concern for us anyway. Shopclues has mentioned in their product page that this product is covered under 10 day hassle free return policy. Have everything going for us now. If they don’t comply properly, we can even take them to court. Requesting dimers to join in on this.

I think most of us do not look as closely on seller ratings on other sites as we do on ebay….whereas we should be more alert on non-ebay sites as they are not as strict on defaulting sellers as ebay is..I sympathize with those who have received broken LCDs here (and hope they get refund/replacement without much toil).. but it doesn’t mean all sellers on shopclues are bad..I have myself bought two LCDs from shopclues in the past besides a lot of other expensive items and by God’s grace all those orders proved good..so instead of saying don’t buy any expensive stuff from shopclues, it would be fair to say – do’t buy expensive stuff from those sellers on shopclues who have fewer ratings..

hope you made video of unpacking. if not, then its a problem because seller can say that you not opened properly and broken it even when he mentioned that it should be opened by technician.

The current score is 2 broken , 0 proper ?

Mine is not broken but defective. Its not physically damaged but liquid crystal inside has leaked. And ppl say dont blame shop clues for sellers fault. But its job of shopclues to ensure authentic sellers sell on their website. And its their job to handle buyer complaints if anything goes wrong. Shop clues is the mediator here and they have to do that job. We are not doing business with seller directly but with shop clues. And finally the seller had 2 but totally +ve ratings. I thought after seeing his catalogue that maybe a new but genuine seller.

I plan to test them. It’ll put a huge dent on their reputation if they irritate me even a little, specially with words like “10 day HASSLE FREE return” used. I suggested some benchmarking system to Admin where dimers can post images of damaged/different/faulty/fake products received. Again i say, picture is worth thousand words.

It will be based on actual user experience and will help other dimers. Every deal can be linked to product images, where dimers who received the product listed, can post the actual images. That is something which can be thought about.

Dont buy costly products from ShopClues, though they mention Refund Policy blah blah its a crap. I ordered a Tata Swach Smart and the bulb was defective and within 24 hrs i raised a refund, they just stopped responding and making phone calls they say to take to the Tata Customer Support because its in warranty and when i ask what is that you assure on your Refund Policy page they say its only for Seller Warranty, i told them to mention that point clearly but they will not do that.

Hmmm, we’ll see. I won’t let something this serious get by so easily. There are few others who received defective products. Though we can go through manufacturer but WHY??? They intentionally delivered damaged goods. And I’ll not let them go easily.

They’re in a world of hurt if they screw this up this time. I will post this LED TV’s image in every electronics deal of shopclues that’s posted in DD. https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_twisted.gif

@ Altruist & @ Lekhwani,

Will you plz post more pic of the TV sets you received! This will give us better opportunity to compare.

Though Lekhwani-bro has received a TV set in good condition, I have a hunch that it’s refurbished (may not be true).

One can check the no. of hours the set has been used. Highdefjunkie is a good site to know how to check this.

Already boxed it and placed in their packaging. Don’t want to open than junk again. It’s with all stickers intact. So doubt that its of that sort. Maybe damaged pieces left with seller. If they were refurbished, then they’d be in working condition instead. https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_eek.gif

As i said in my case as well, the packaging was too good for TV to get damaged. Specially in your case, the box pack itself has been damaged and put together by cello tape as shown in images. The seller intentionally sent us damaged goods. Its clear beyond doubt now.

while booking they do mention as fragile. but master packing wud b alogether! and I have practically seen unloading of goods ! when I received broken piece ( opened by authorised service centre ) he issued me DOA form and I booked complaint with ebay, in turn seller personally called me to reship item but I demanded same to be confirmed by ebay mail. But in shop clues they arrange for reverse pickup.
with everything legally alright I had to fight for 15 restless days! I think most of tvs get damaged on transit due to 1) mishandling 2) stand packed with tv 3) companies take 5 to 6months for replacement for transit damage from distributor to dealer! So dealer may opt for these sets to sell online and mark as DAMAGED WHILE ON TRANSIT TO CUSTOMER which gets done within a month. I don’t believe that a product with 3 yrs warranty is refurbished / duplicate etc., etc., TWEET TO SC THEY WUD CALL U !
BUT THIS SECTION WORRIES ME BIT:

My order will be delivered today via Gati.
Thought of rejecting it but still I will need to run behind them for refund of 14k so taking risk.

Any idea how much time Toshiba will take after installation request?

I want Toshiba servicemen to unpack it because I think Dead on arrival certificate will be necessary in case of issues like faulty screen.
Can’t trust shopclues anymore.

Called Toshiba India CC and their response was shocking.

They said they fail to understand how online retailers can provide so much discount.
Further they said they won’t provide 3 years manufacturer warranty! https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_eek.gif
They said they will just do installation and that’s it.
Can’t even provide dead on arrival certificate as no warranty on product bought online.
He said they receive hundreds of such complaints daily of products sold online.

What I fail to understand is how can they say this on warranty when we have genuine VAT/tax invoice? https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_twisted.gif

Apple does the same, they provide warranty on products sold by authorized sellers listed on their site only.
But in such case, can’t we file a case on seller who are selling and also giving invoices of products which they are not authorized to sell?

I had submitted a review with all 1 stars. To ensure there is no ambiguity, i posted another review of a memory card i bought and gave it 5 stars. I gave the 5 star review AFTER the 1 star review.

What, Toshiba live in some stone age? Fight boss, you demand them to come because you have a VAT paid invoice. That’s it. These online sellers are dealers too, just that they have their shops in some other cities.

In that case, how do you know that even an offline seller is authorized dealer or not??? They’re bullshitting you. Just fight with them to come and install it. BTW, why did u even have to mention the price at which u bought it? You should have simply placed a call and asked them to install.

I haven’t told the price, he replayed with discount point when I said I bought online!

Regarding warranty, I told him that you can’t refuse it, and he said they can. And after that I realized yes, they can refuse if the seller is not authorized by them.
Reason being Apple doing this openly and Toshiba also gave advisory that online purchases are not eligible for offers even though bought with VAT invoices.

http://www.desidime.com/forums/dost-and-dimes/t...

http://blogs.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/WebWis...

Nikon, Lenovo and Toshiba started this which I think most of brands will follow with time.
Jaw dropping online discounts are not a new thing, US Eupore experienced long time ago, but these companies haven’t given such non sense adversaries there.

May be because government takes care of customers there and companies can’t show such attitude and unfairness.
