On the other hand, if you want a single device to perform the job of a modem as well as a wireless router, there are other options that you can consider.

If you want wifi modem try dlink 2750u. Coupon applicable. Effective price 1200..

Yup. Last time came for 1400 and i missed it. Now got it cheaper. One of the best adsl modem in terms of range.

sorry but i couldnt look into deal as i got busy with something else. had issue with another order

this is not an ADSL router.. agreed . but for those who don’t need ADSL this is great VFM..

my only grouse is that there is no USB port, other that that this router rocks.

install dd-wrt and you unleash a beast…gains all functions of many premium routers.

bought second one for my in laws
No plans to install ddwrt.
good router gives decent coverage in my 1960s 3 bedroom house with thick walls.
no wifi drops or reboots.
will recommend to anyone

First of all, this router does not have a modem so you will need a separate modem if you intend to use this for a DSL internet connection. As I mentioned in my channel alert post, this is the best value for money wireless router at present so buy it without any hesitation. If you are using a DSL internet service, you probably already have a dedicated modem from the service provider (BSNL, Airtel, etc.) so you can buy this router for wireless internet. CC @hese

yeah true!!

This router is useful for the ones in big homes/offices where they want wifi at every corner…. just pull a ethernet cable from adsl router and connect to this modem. This is also works great for LANs in colleges,offices and hostels.

i have this modem already..!

It’s custom open source firmware. These routers don’t gain much from it unless you want to alter their uses (as a repeater and such). You can customise everything from power consumption to firewalls. But if you are not careful you can brick your router.
