Good from a purely CPU perf. perspective. On par with Ci5 7th gen. The usual drawbacks associated with budget laptops will remain.

I meant the usual compromises w.r.t. build quality, display, battery life etc. If there’s a ton of bloatware further compounded by a slow HDD, an SSD will fix that. Additional RAM is highly recommend as well. Don’t mind me. Choose what fits in your budget.

Highly recommended for the price when included with HDFC Bank offer….

Its a good general purpose laptop, especially for students if gaming is not a priority…

Screen is TN Film, No backlit keyboard & only one USB 3.0 port are the only drawbacks…

But for the price its quite good considering it has Core i3 8th Gen + M.2 slot for SSD + Wifi AC + RAM Slot + 15.6" Display…

Other features :

- Good airflow design vents
- Separate access panel for HDD & RAM for easy upgrade

A heads up… ACER is launching New Acer Aspire 3 (Slim) in June 2019 that will match Ideapad 330s features….

Build quality of Aspire 3 has improved a lot compared to Acer laptops a few years back…

I bought A6 model in Nov 2018 & was very impressed with such robust build quality at this price point… Acer has improved a lot in this area….

But features of this laptop are dated & other vendors like ASUS & Lenovo have already launched models with slim profile & better display + features a year back…

That’s good to know. I have an upmarket Acer Nitro 5 and the keyboard flexes upon a little more than usual force. And I had come across various generations if Aspire series in the past ( but not recently) which didn’t leave a good impression. However for the price they commanded they were fine esp. when combined with the usually cheap warranty extension packs.

Some keyboard flex is there but nothing serious…. I remember older gen Acer laptops with weak plastic & panels getting loose after few years. They looked & felt quite flimsy but now they have taken care of those issues. Some kinks are there but given the price they could be ignored at the very least….
