I guess it has to do with the taxation norms in India for local sourcing of components and manufacturing. As luggage bag and sunglasses don’t fall under electronics I am assuming the have lesser customs duty even for imports but as laptops fall under electronics category they have to source the components locally and have manufacturing too for getting tax benefits.
Without tax benefits the laptops will cost lot higher and makes no sense for buyers. I might be wrong but I guess this is what’s happening

Mi A3 has SD 665 which is inferior in performance to SD660. It is a rebranded Mi 9cce with FHD+ display.
Wow, what a shocker for those who waited for Android One phone for months. They may launch a pro model later but this downgrade was done to ensure A3 doesn’t compete with Redmi K20.
I think India will get a different version. Wont be below 675. Most likely 712 or 730.

Redmi A3 flop because of Snapdragon 665 chip set & HD display.
I wouldn’t mind a cheap android one phone actually let’s see if they price it correctly…mi can always launch a pro version later
