VU… for floor standing speakers.
for AV receiver, wanted to know whether it has HDMI up-conversion facility for video signal and subwoofer with the unit is active subwoofer or not???

currently i am owning denon 1907 receiver so will it be feasible to sell it and purchase this home theater system as the denon 1907 is not having HDMI Connectivity. and if i do not buy it then please suggest some good front speaker package (2 speakers) for denon 1907. I am mainly interested wall mount package.

any researcher.. pls answer.

the quality of the speakers is quite cheesy as i have seen them personally , and i would always prefer wood or atleast MDF enclosed speakers rather then plastic , plus the subwoofer is not down firing which is a drawback as u dont get the floor shaking movie theatre experience . well ofcourse tats just my opinion .

@hsaxena, why you want to change your 7.1 ch AVR to 5.1 ? you want only front speaker pack ? which one are you using now.

I wanted just because it is not having HDMI. but still denon is denon. currently i am using an Onkyo tower speakers. A pencil has been pricked in the cone of one of the speaker by my daughter. so i need to change the both. and now i want small wall mount speaker package. surround , center speakers and subwoofer are also from onkyo and they are in good position. no need to change them now. so i just want wall mount front speakers.

just few of my experiences with home theatre’s as i have bought a few of them over the last few years , sorry dont remember the exact model numbers …

there was a package of 5.1 speakers by Boston Acoustics and it had a 100 watt active subwoofer ..it cost arnd 8k about 5 years ago when i had bought ..and they were good for the price but not at par with the onkyo’s , denon’s , yamaha ofcourse .

First hometheatre i got was akai 5.1 with a 3 cd changer VCD player , its gone now ..

next was Onkyo 6.1 about 8 years , I bought from Big Bazaar , had an MRP of 44,000.00 but got it for about 19k . tat was a sweet deal .the subwoofer is the best part but the amp has died down , need to get it repaired .

my current package is that of Yamaha amp RX – V457 @ 17,000.00 and Yamaha Subwoofer 250 watts @ 16,000.00 from Alfa electronics , 2 floor standing speakers and 3 wall mount speakers package from Vijay sales .

the above setup is put up on Speaker A

i have put BOSE acoustimass 2.1 speakers hooked to Speaker B of the amp .

it doesnt have any hdmi but still dont require as I connect the DVD directly to the LCD ..no led , no 3d , no BD yet ..

but the sound is a$$ blowing …

Conclusion : prefer Yamaha and Denon to Onkyo amps and Onkyo for speakers , Subs …
