Are You Worried?

Expand your vision about yourself, about life and about this universe. This universe has been there for at least 19 billion years, and it is part of a billion of galaxies. If you observe the cosmos, the solar system is like a dot.
There are billions of galaxies and one among them is our Milky Way. So the Mily Way is very small, and in that, the solar system is a dot, and in that there is our planet Earth, and in that there is you! You have to take a lens to see and by the time you see, you’re already gone! (here meaning, the magnanimity of the universe in comparison with our existence).
What is your life? In this multi-verse, your planet is insignificant and you are even more insignificant. Another factor is time. In so many billions of years, billions of people have walked this planet. There are seven billion people on this planet today, and many are being born every day and many are dying. Then what is your life? It’s like a blink of the eye, and you’re already gone! When you see your life from this bigger context, you realize that it is nothing!

80 years you live on this planet called Earth. Out of that, 40 years you spend sleeping, 10 years you spend in the bathroom, 10 years you spend in eating, 15 years you spend in working. The waking period in your life is so small.

What is this ‘Me, me me?’ It is nothing! Think and you will realize that life is insignificant.
Everyday billions of thoughts come into your brain and then they go. You hold on to some thoughts. You can’t hold on to all the thoughts. If you hold on to all the thoughts you will be in the mental hospital!
When you see life from a bigger context all the worries disappear and a new dimension opens up.

Now when you go into the microcosm, it is even more exciting. There are billions of cells in the brain and many are being born every day and many are dying. There are 50,000 types of bacteria in your stomach. There are 3 different colonies of mites that live on each line on your forehead. They have their colonies; they don’t cross their lines.

In India, people would put three lines of ash across their forehead, I used to wonder why, but now scientists say that those three lines have colonies of mites and they all are very different.

Similarly, on the tip of the nose there are so many types of bacteria! Scientists are still baffled! The information got from the tip of the nose is even more than what they can get from the DNA. Scientists still haven’t understood how much information the tip of the nose can provide. When you go deeper and deeper into the microcosm there is so much! It is baffling!

You take one atom, the space there is like that between the galaxies. An atom is 99.99% empty space! The same is the case of the cells in our body. The cells in our body are just empty space.

Whether you take the route of science or that of spirituality, you will reach the same point. Both say the same thing, that it is all space. It is very interesting.

Recently there was an article published by the American Medical Journey which said that if a person meditates regularly for 8 weeks, the structure of the brain changes and the grey matter increases. So many benefits come out of meditation.

Just learning about genes is fascinating! Do you know that in one human gene you can find all other genes. Every other animal is present in one human gene! You can create an elephant using one atom from your body. The human body is so complete that from it you can create every other gene. This is all so fascinating.

When such things are there, what is there to worry?

Excellent Motivational Story

The Hurting Of The Ego

Almost everyday or every second day we come across a situation when someone says something to us which is not very pleasurable or we chose to perceive it to be so. In either case, we feel insulted and get upset as a result. In some cases we react and display our feelings. In some, we don’t. In either case, the result is a depreciation (decrease) in our happiness index.

Why does this happen? It’s because you have created, attached to and identified with an image of yourself in your mind that does not match with how the other sees or perceives you, as a result of which you believe you have been insulted and you get upset.

As long as people’s perception of you matches the image that you have created inside your mind of yourself, you are content with them, but as soon as the opposite happens, even if it is to a very small extent, you become disturbed, because you are attached to that image. The more the attachment, the greater the hurt, the disturbance or reaction. You could examine this phenomenon very closely, taking place inside yourself everyday. This kind of attachment mentioned above is called ego. That’s why the phenomenon explained above is called in common language ‘the hurting of the ego’.

Most of us think too much, especially about events and people, local and global, famous and not so famous. When we are always thinking about what is happening on the surface of life, the visible, then it is as if we are living a superficial life. And when two people who both live on the surface meet, the exchange, the conversation, is superficial, sometimes totally bereft of meaning. Often it leaves us totally unsatisfied. And as we share news of our surface observations, we come to know our own superficiality, but we are not strong enough to resist it. Deep down inside there is a voice, a longing, a calling to depth. It’s our heart, reminding us to visit, explore and express the depths of our ourselves. Everyone has depth but we confuse the heart with emotion, and forget that emotion is the result of getting too close to events on the surface. So one of our deepest needs, which is to go in deep, is seldom satisfied. Going deep and being deep requires time spent in solitude, some periods of introversion and a conversation with ourselves.

We only know what is at the bottom of the ocean by going there, diving deep and switching on a light and looking through the lens of a camera. The results are images of depth. How on earth will we ever see what is in our heart unless we dive deep inside, switch on the light and look. Those who do will tell you it changes everything. What do they see? Simple, only beauty and truth. They are always there, waiting for us to return. Waiting to welcome us and to introduce ourselves to ourself.

Belief Power

So why do you have so many beliefs? And why is the world not becoming a better place with so many believers? To answer this question, we need to go back to the moment ‘truth’ was lost to our awareness…some time ago. Beliefs are only present because we have lost our connection with the eternal truths, and our awareness of those truths. For example, while you believe you are what you see in the bathroom mirror in the morning, it is not the truth of who you really are. You are not your physical form – you are simply spirit, or that which animates the form. The experience (not the belief) of this truth liberates you from the fear of ageing and decay. Spirit (self) does not grow old and does not die. But then, you must not believe me (or disbelieve me). When you experience, there is no longer a need to believe, because now you know…the truth.

This why belief is not the truth and why truth is more powerful than belief, and why belief and truth are never found in bed together. So what is the truth? Are you a physical being having the occasional spiritual experience, or are you a spiritual being have a physical experience. If you say both that’s called avoidance!

Who is Blocking you

One day all the employees reached the office and saw a big advice written on the door.

Yesterday the person who has been stopping your growth in this company passed away. You are invited to join the funeral.

In the beginning, they got sad for the death of one of their colleagues, but after a while they got curious to know who was the man who stopped their growth.

Everyone thought: Well atleast the man who stopped my progress died!

One by one the thrilled employees got closer to the coffin, and when they looked inside they were speechless. They stood shocked in silence, as if someone had touched the deepest part of their soul. There was a mirror inside the coffin and everyone who looked inside could see himself.

There was a sign next to the mirror that read:
There is only one person who is capable to set limits to your growth…It is you. You are the only person who can influence your happiness, success and realization.

Your life does not change when your boss friends or company change…..your life changes when you change…you go beyond your limiting beliefs and you realize you are the only one responsible for your life.

Its the way you face life that makes the difference!

Great things always begin from our inside.

Become less reactive and more responsive

In life, we have essentially two psychological modes that we are in most of the time: reactive and responsive. The reactive mode is the one that feels stressful. In it, we feel pressured and are quick to judge. We lose perspective and take things personally. We’re annoyed, bothered, and frustrated.

Needless to say, our judgment and decision making capacity is severely impaired when we are in a reactive state of mind. We make quick decisions that we often regret. We annoy other people and tend to bring out the worst in them. When an opportunity knocks, we are usually too overwhelmed or frustrated to see it. If we do see it, we’re usually overly critical and negative.

The responsive mode, on the other hand, is our most relaxed state of mind. Being responsive suggests that we have our bearings. We see the bigger picture and take things less personally. Rather than being rigid and stubborn, we are flexible and calm. In the responsive mode, we are at our best. We bring out the best in others and solve problems gracefully. When an opportunity comes our way, our mind is open. We are receptive to new ideas.

Once you are aware of these two drastically different modes of being. You will begin to notice which one you are in. You’ll also notice the predictability of your behavior and feelings when you are in each mode. You’ll observe yourself being irrational and negative in your reactive mode and calm and wise in your responsive state of mind.

This Mirror Life.

The good you find in others, is in you too.

The faults you find in others, are your faults as well.

After all, to recognize something you must know it.

The possibilities you see in others, are possible for you as well.

The beauty you see around you, is your beauty.

The world around you is a reflection, a mirror showing you the

person you are.

To change your world, you must change yourself.

To blame and complain will only make matters worse.

Whatever you care about, is your responsibility.

What you see in others, shows you yourself.

See the best in others, and you will be your best.

Give to others, and you give to yourself.

Appreciate beauty, and you will be beautiful.

Admire creativity, and you will be creative.

Love, and you will be loved.

Seek to understand, and you will be understood.

Listen, and your voice will be heard.

Teach, and you will learn.

Show your best face to the mirror,

and you’ll be happy with the face looking back at you.
