A sign of progress…Mumbai gets its maiden public bike share program. The program made a debut on August 15, with a project to rent out bicycles starting in the north eastern suburb of Ghatkopar. A small experiment with 20 bicycles that will be scaled up. Any registered person can hire out a bicycle from a depot and go to another. It helps fight traffic snarls, is pollution free and also makes the person more fit. It costs just Rs. 5 per journey. Hope this will be a big success and this will be extended to other places soon. 5₹ per journey ? does that mean only for small distance or can take it anywhere and pay just 5

World’s first driver-less taxi trial kicks off in Singapore. The trial currently consists of a fleet of 6 cars – each of them has a complex system of lasers that operate like a radar to monitor the car’s surrounding. In addition there are cameras that work with software. The taxis will run in a limited 4 sq km area in the west of the city-state.
