AMU’s Kashmiri students protest against sedition charges, alleged harassment

On Saturday, sedition cases were registered against the three students for allegedly raising “anti-India” slogans and trying to hold a prayer meeting for Hizbul Mujahideen commander Manan Bashir Wani, a aluminous of the varsity who was killed in an encounter with the security forces in north Kashmir, officials had said.
“Police filed an FIR against Wasim Malik, Abdul Mir and one unnamed person. They have been identified on the basis of a video recording,” Aligarh Senior Superintendent of Police Ajai Sahni had said.

AMU: आतंकी के नमाज-ए-जनाजा के समर्थन में ओवैसी-महबूबा, छात्रों पर एक्शन से खफा
हिज्बुल मुजाहिद्दीन के आतंकी मन्नान वानी के मारे जाने के बाद देश की प्रतिष्ठित अलीगढ़ मुस्लिम यूनिवर्सिटी (AMU) के कश्मीरी छात्रों द्वारा नमाज-ए-जनाजा पढ़ने की कोशिश में देशद्रोह का केस दर्ज होने पर सियासत गरमा गई है. जम्मू-कश्मीर की पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री महबूबा मुफ्ती ने केंद्र से मामले हस्तक्षेप करने की मांग करने के साथ-साथ कहा है कि छात्रों को अपने साथी को याद करने का पूरा हक है.
पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री महबूबा मुफ्ती ने ट्वीट में लिखा,’ छात्रों की आवाज दबाने के परिणाम अच्छे नहीं होंगे. छात्रों पर से केस वापस लिए जाने पर केंद्र हस्तक्षेप करे और एएमयू प्रशासन उनका निलंबन वापस ले. जम्मू-कश्मीर के बाहर की राज्य सरकारों को स्थिती पर संवेदनशील होना चाहिए, ताकि इनके अलगाव को रोका जा सके.

some months back same AMU was in news for jinnah portrait , at that time our few friends said there is no such love for jinnah in AMU, hmm ok
now they openly asking for prayer in memories of a terrorist who was also from AMU, who are these people who pray for a terrorist !! is it really justified !!
so Indian authorities should permit them for prayers ? this time mufti statement confirm that there was such event on death of terrorist .
some people then ask why youth adopt terrorism , if educational institutions will have such bigots then what do you expect ? also support from national leaders and few other groups for these type of bigots, extremely shameful
those who dont know – Mannan wani was a hijbul commander who completed his M.Phil and PhD from AMU and recently our armed forced sent him to right place , but after that AMU students were eager to do prayer for that terrorist and calling him martyr
few students are charged for sedition but now entire group asking to withdraw charge on those and leaders supporting it
