ATMs across the country go dry

For the last few weeks, several areas in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have reported shortage of currency. Now similar reports are coming from eastern Maharashtra, Bihar and Gujarat too. The government is checking with banks and the Reserve Bank of India to ensure adequate supply of currency, ET Now reported. Sources in the finance ministry said the cash crunch was not alarming and there was no need to panic.

Few of the party workers drawing huge sum of money and depositing it the next day and continuing this cycle. It is really sad to see people causing giving trouble to their own people just for election.

Instead of printing sufficient currency, they can do all sorts of things

It might be a joke to you but this thing has some reality. Forget about blaming anyone here. My 3-4 friends works in bank and I collected data of huge withdrawal from SBI, PNB, Canara, BoI and the people concerned are connected to Congress/BSP/TMC atleast in Panchkula and Chandigarh region and this game is on from one and a half month. The RBI currency chest here in March shown concern by issuing notices to banks here and asked how come lesser cash is coming back to them than normal and shrinking everyday? They checked and replied and that some people are hoarding cash for unknown reason. Not only big flishes, followers have been asked to create cash crunch situation to make life miserable for common man. At the end current Govt will be blamed for everything.

How come Rahul Gandhi jumped to conclusion that demo days are coming back. So did they really plann/ed/ing to make life miserable by covering things in name of demo days? We all know who have greatest art of hoarding everything from onions to sugar to anything with their expertise of 60+ years.

The other reason are arhtiyas are withdrawing huge cash to make payment to zamindaars and farmers as season is on but they do such thing every year. So artificial cash crunch is by anti-Govt propagandists. The power hungry despos are trying hard to get back in 2019 and showing their level which is normal these days. Within a week they will be exposed by IT dept and RBI.

Well I never said entire country is facing this issue.
Even RBI said there is enough cash.
If you have any other case to explain why there is cash shortage then you could have explained it, I would have been happy to understand it but you somehow feel you are superior to other lesser mortals. Good Luck.

RBI is going to print more cash, is blaming transportation (and they had changed transportation rule 2 weeks ago which caused all this situation).

Keep on living in denial and believing conspiracy theories. On one hand you have a 56 inch chaukidar and ruling 80% states and on other hand you guys blame on a Pappu leader whom you term as weak and useless. Way to go.

And interestingly, these are same breed of bhakts who did PhD overnight on why cashless society is good for economy. Suddenly, when there is less cash, they forgot all those preaching. grinning

We don’t know who holds PhD in that but agree to point that cashless society is really good for economy. Only process has started and it takes a courage to start a process. Soon with more and more people adopting the habit to withdraw less cash and using digital modes, we will see results too. Bro, if you don’t want to be part of it then no problem but atleast make other learn around you. Maybe they get benefit of that. I would have supported digital India if congress had started it. Something as a start should be appreciated. Forget about cashless, we first need less cash society.

As far as conspiracy theories are concerned. They are here to stay as there are many in India who love to put hurdles in good work and in what way they do cheap things can’t be guessed. Just like hoarding of onions or other commodities hit the politics, cash crunch too has power to hit it. Hawa hi aisi hai ki ab toh opposition kya bewakoofi karde pata hi nahi lagta. BJP jab opposition mein thi toh itna darr nahi lagta tha jitna 44 Congis se lagta hai. laughing

However, I believe every party has started storing cash for 2019 in gunny bags. This is why rumor is strong that Notebandi 2 might be just around the corner.

Cash crunch happens every year during March April due to new crops, marriage and academic admission session. Any banker will tell you how much they are respected for new currency notes for wedding in nov/april, how much black money goes out for donation. Supply demand ratio is always high in Oct-Nov and March April. It’s up to government on how better they can deal. A good government will try to sort out things and stop people from panic and on other hand when it was evident since a month that cash crunch is coming (check twitter handle [email protected] who broke this story last month itself), instead of printing more the rbi instead changed rules for logistic supply for interstate currency and brought 200 note at wrong time since NO ATM is calibered to these notes. Right now only 25~30% ATMs have been calibered with 200 value notes, also huge hoarding of 2000 notes by black money holders (yeah banning 500-1000 will stop black money, they said), making things worst.

But it’s easy to blame Nehru, Gandhi and Pakistan. wink

Totally agree.
