Lenovo Z2 Plus

Hi,

Received my Z2 PLUS today. Sanpdeal delivered it late by two days however packaging was excellent.

Un-boxing Details:

Step 1: Reviewed main Sanpdeal pack very closely, it was intact and no signs of tampering were visible (status: passed )
Step 2: Z2 main box was well packed in bubble wrap. Main box was covered with Lenovo sealed plastic wrap. No signs of tampering (status: passed )
Step 3: Opened plastic wrap, device box was sealed with Lenovo’s orange colored company seal, no signs of tampering (status: passed )
Step 4: Box contained 1 phone, 1 charger (two pin, Indian version), 1 type-C cable)

Now coming to phone:
Phone’s front screen was covered with pre-applied matte screen
Phone itself was covered with lenovo provided protective case, black color, good material
Backside of phone was covered with protective film (this was applied to save it’s glass back from scratches)

Looks:
Phone was scratch less and shinning. Looks like iPhone 5/5s when display is off

Display:
Due to matte screenguard the display was quite dim and off colored. However once you remove the matte screen the real beauty comes out. Display is bright and vivid

Build quality:
Build is excellent, the only negative is use to glass at backside (needs real good care)

Software:
I got Android MM out of box, didn’t try to look for update etc. Want to give it some time to settle down and then will go for tweaking and tinkering.
Software is quite good and majority of setting are similar to CM.14.1 except – navbar change, display slide on touch etc.
Very fluid and responsive
No heating issues at all, played NFS for 30 mins, it didn’t create any lag, extraordinary heat etc
Notification area is at the bottom (which is quite awkward)

Camera:
Good pics/videos in daylight / good room light
Mediocre in lowlight

Sound quality:
Excellent on Sony headphones (MDR-XB450)
Good via phone speaker (it’s mono, not stereo)

Call quality:
Excellent and clear voice over JIO 4G VoLTE
Video call was also excellent via Google Duo app

Special mention about 4G VoLTE
Instert JIO SIM in Sim1 slot and reboot phone, this will automatically set your phone on 4G mode and you’ll see 4G VoLTE icon on status bar. Enable ‘data speed’ from advance setting and you’ll see the actual speed while surfing, youtubing etc.
No hiccups at all.
Noise cancelling works like charm and other party can hear you loud and clear.

Overall it was an excellent experience purchasing via Sanpdeal on heavy discount
Applied LEN1000, used HDFC 750 off and I might get 5% cashback as well
