Online train tickets vs offline train tickets

This comparison is purely for 1AC / 2AC / 3AC.

While sleeper class still continues to remain sort of loot for online booking
online booking doesn’t seem to offer super discounts as they claim of 100 / 200

1. Take any offline route of 1400 / 1500.
2. Now check irctc charge it would add Rs. 36 approx be it from its portal / any booking portal – mmt / goibibo/ yatra
3. Now each portal adds its another 35-40 rs as travel agent charges authorized by irctc.

If you are using any offer on irctc portal u may add up paying some payment gateway charge. Currently hdfc bhim upi is free wheras axis & paytm charge 10 + tax.
For dc / cc again 10rs + tax to 1.8% charge is there.
For wallet offer again 0.5% to 1.8% charge is there. So max 50 / 100 doesn’t make sense much as 40 irctc charges + 15/ 20 as payment charges.
4. Current paypal offer offered by mmt is a silent loot – not by us but by mmt – it adds silently on last page 40rs as payment gateway charge. so 150 discount – 36 irctc – 40 agent chgs – 40 payment gateway chgs. So effectively only 30
So for bigger denomination 125 offered by goibibo is better as it doesn’t levy 40 rs payment gateway charges on PayPal so inshort 15 extra saved here & saving of jst rs. 50
5. Yatra amazon offer – Tuesday offer 200 to 1200 offer can be tried, but 1800 ticket is becoming 2000 and 99% chance are that you are getting 200 cb & 60 rs another saving assumption of 3% az gv discount. So saving of 75 max.

Comment if anyone is getting any better offer over 100 after taking into consideration offline price? New paypal card is not a solution
