The first place from where the trickery of Pepperfry starts is the website. You would notice that the products listed on its site are not photographed alone. They are paired with various props to give a super aesthetic appearance so that you would like it as soon as you see it.

For instance, take a look at this product
https://www.pepperfry.com/anitz-study-and-lapto...

The product that you would purchase is just the table. But look how beautifully it has been accessorized with all the stuff that you would make you instantly like it.

But when you purchase it, all you would get is the pieces of wooden boards bundled together in a corrugated box which would be assembled couple hours later by some guy.

You would then realize the difference between what you thought you had bought and what you had actually bought.

And gosh! Those super photoshopped pictures. Like, can you tell from the pictures that the back of this Almirah is just a 2 mm thin cardboard?

Coming to the quality. For you, it must be important, for Pepperfry QUALITY is a bad joke.

Most people like my friend and I purchased from Pepperfry for their really affordable price. However, here’s is the catch- their price may be low but their Quality is the lowest.

This was told to me by the guy who had come to assemble the table I had bought. He was from manufacturer’s side and he told that products listed on Pepperfry are sold for an even lower price at retail stores and I made a mistake.

They sell everything made of low grade (sh*t grade) engineered wood. The varnish would start losing within a few weeks. Yes, WEEKS. The product would become whitish with fungus or anything. When you tell them they will tell you to “it’s not product’s problem, it’s your home’s problem. Apply coconut oil on it”.

Also, third grade wood means the products are week. My friend’s bought a cot from them (despite my warnings) and guess what, one of the planks joining the two ends broke. In the second month. Now he is constantly calling them and I am still telling him- no point.

Now, SUPPORT

They don’t have any support. They don’t have a support number. You have to write on their website.

There is a woman named Sofia who would call you after few day and tell you “it’s your fault”.

She is so obnoxious that you would instantly hate her. You will try to reason with her and she will hang up. She will hang up, try it.

The replacement warranty on their site. Don’t believe it. They will start telling you the clauses when you complain.

All in all, go to a physical and buy from there. Buy from Amazon if you want to buy online but these scamsters, stay away from them. Good luck!

Good for branded items. Even bought a fridge worth >20K at good discount vis-a-vis offline store(visited)
There was an issue with fridge in a week but PF really took good care of it n got it fixed by Whirlpool service executive.
Bought many other items like Tupperware/Philips Extn/Rechargeable batteries …there were issues but resolved in my favor n polite.
Never buy unbranded items, possible that sellers are cheating n PF trying to save itself at any cost…it could even be scam between sellers n PF to loot investors money
