Rule Discussion - Extended coupons/offers rule
If a coupon/offer validity is extended from the same day its suppose to expire then that thread will be merged with the previous one. But if coupon/offer is not extended within 48Hrs of its expiry then a new thread can be created and it will not be considered as repost.
Eg :- If validity of a coupon is till 15th and offer is extended on the same day or within 2 days i.e till 17th then it will be merged with the old thread, and it will not be considered for fpd. But offer was not extended till 17th and it was again marked live on 18th then it will be considered as fresh post and it can be considered as fpd.
This rule was created when …. there were no scenario….where deals where shared by merchants for one day…. and again make it live on the next day
given that these instances have increased…. we wanted dimers view… to say whethere this post should be considered or not considered as repost ??
and should the offer be considered for FPD or not
- Sort By
so only time frame should be a criteria ??
even if the coupon is same ??
@anthrax.ut I agree with @rajrocks if the time frame changes and customer is able to use a offer once again in the new timeframe, then is should be considered for FPD.
thanks !
Flash sale should be considered as FPD as customer will be able to use same.
thanks for the view
Thanks for the views guys !!
Please keep on adding regarding this rule…. will keep the thread open till tomorrow evening…. and will update the rules thread by tomorrow evening
Hi All,
We will be updating the revised rules in few days time. As we are working on other repost rules as well.

@bumblefoot @anthrax.ut Would you please explain why the suggestions in this thread were only applied as an exception for travel deals? IMO, they should apply to all coupons/offers.
Also, rather than using complicated language, I think it would be better if you just simply explain the difference between “a renewal” and “an extension”.
As far as I am concerned:
Renewal = Deal extended with a fresh set of start and end dates regardless of whether the extension happens on or after the previous expiry date PLUS user is able to reuse the offer
Extension = Deal extended with only the end date changing and hence leaving the user unable to reuse the offer
With the above in mind, it becomes clearer then that deal renewals should be considered for a fresh FPD, while extension threads should be merged to the original thread.
bro, my thumb rule is basically a new time period is mentioned and u can avail the offer again.
