We’ve already written about quick commerce services like the Amazon Tez app and Myntra’s M-Now service, which deliver items within 10 to 30 minutes. Recently, news media has been buzzing with news about the growing competition in the quick commerce sector.

Several companies are racing to offer 10-minute food delivery as a way to increase revenue, and the battle is far from over, with many established brands preparing to launch new services. In this competition, Blinkit has made a surprising move by launching its Bistro app, promising to deliver snacks, sweets, bakery products, coffee, and breakfast items in just 10 minutes.

The reason to launch Bistro was to take on Zepto cafe. The launch comes one day after Zepto, an high competitor of Blinkit, announced it will roll out a different app for Cafe, its food delivery business. Earlier Zomato had tried many times for a 10-minute food delivery but it didn’t get huge popularity and shuttered.

Currently, Amazon is also stepping into India’s quick commerce market with 15-minute deliveries, starting in Bengaluru and aiming to expand to major cities. Although it is late but its robust delivery network positions it to compete with leaders like Zepto, and Swiggy Instamart. The space is heating up further, with Flipkart also launching quick deliveries. From gadgets to groceries, India’s quick commerce market is now a battlefield for everything.

The Bistro app was firstly available only on the Play Store, but it is now also accessible on the App Store. After installing the app, you can log in using your Zomato account or phone number. Once logged in, you can manually set your location.

Note that while the Bistro app is live, it currently delivers only to select locations. The service is gradually expanding to more areas and cities.
