About Lenovo A6000 (Black, 8 GB)

Not many budget smartphones run into production for more than two years, more so when a successor has already been launched. Lenovo A6000 was marketed as one of the cheapest 4G phone in India and two years hence it still remains one of the must-buy phones in the Indian market.

DESIGN & PLATFORM

The design and build of Lenovo A6000 isn’t inspiring and it’s understandable at this price range. It has an all-plastic body with rectangular form factor with rounded corners. It doesn’t have any kind of glass protection and the rear plastic cover looks quite cheap. A6000 runs on Android 6.0, Marshmallow with its own Vibe UI skin which is minimalistic and yet very popular. Though it doesn’t have an app drawer, the home screen-app launcher is a big plus for people who would use a smartphone for the very first time.

CAMERA & STORAGE

On the camera side of it the A6000 has a basic 8 MP auto-focus rear camera that comes with LED flash capturing good images in ideal lighting conditions. It also offers the basic geo-tagging, touch focus and face detection features. Low light photography isn’t noteworthy and the 2 MP camera at the front makes it good for video calls and selfies if not great. The phone ships with 8 GB internal storage expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card.

PERFORMANCE & CONNECTIVITY
It is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 chipset and a Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 processor which give out decent performance for its price category. 1GB of RAM won’t excite most users but it is adequate for segment that would buy this phone. On the connectivity side it offers great options that include 4G and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 and the advanced Assisted GPS.

DISPLAY & BATTERY

Lenovo A6000 comes with a 5.0 inch IPS LCD Capacitive Touchscreen that offers relatively good viewing angles even at 180° and vibrant colors. It is powered by a Li-Po 2300 mAh battery which lasts a day when put through basic usage but would require users to carry a Power Bank for regular gaming and lots of 4G videos.

Lenovo A6000 Is Great For Budget but Loses Out On Performance

India is a price sensitive market and Lenovo took a little while to realize it, and with A6000 it is taking other manufacturers head on. Lenovo A6000 has been priced ideally for people buying their first smartphone or those who look to have a 4G handset to become a part of the huge craze for high speed internet in their pockets. So here is our verdict for the Lenovo A6000

Why Should You Buy?

4G Connectivity: It still remains one of the cheapest 4G handsets in the market if one is looking at the leading brands. This would allow people to experience high speed data phone without burning a hole in their pockets.

Dolby Digital Plus Speakers: The twin speakers give out great output when the volume is at its maximum. The clarity matches up to phones that are priced well above this phone.  The audio can be tailored using the Dolby app equalizer settings.
