Just called customer care and they say this offer is open only for people who have bought the Spicejet on-board(available in flights) magazines. (Thats why the code CTSPICE). The details are still not updated. Wonder how will they verify about the magazines. Completely confused what to do! Anyone done with booking using this code?

If that is the case then we all should file a motion for injunction against them. I have the screenshot with me and nowhere is it mentioned about anything that has to do with Spicejet’s “God knows what” magazines. Exactly Tanuj, how are they even gonna verify about whether the buyer has any such damned magazine or not. This is cheating in broad daylight and there’s always a provision to counter such acts, sometimes with a fine like what SEBI did to Futurebazaar just recently.I wonder what Tarun’s lawyer friend has to say about this one.

Bhai, those magazines are anyway free to read and take home. How can you buy something which is free??? Cleartrip CC’s have lost their marbles. The link shared by Ramz is still valid and people using this voucher should take a snapshot of that and mail Cleartrip.

They had not laid our any constraints at the time of putting up the deal and can’t modify it retrospectively.

Agree to both of you. I asked the same thing to them that nowhere it’s mentioned that we have to buy a magazine or something. But he said he will forward the complain to the concerned department and blah blah. He asked me to use the other offers on the website and happily suggested me hotels to proceed for booking. I cut the phone But he was not willing to apply this offer for me. So i’m confused whether they will return cashback or not!

Quick little update: I have received the Rs.1500 cash back into my bank account a couple of hours back just as promised by Cleartrip. I had booked a hotel room for two days on the 17th of October. As per Cleartrip, the cashback had been initiated from their end on the 22nd. And the same reflected into my bank account statement today i.e 31/10/2011. That’s all.

Tanuj bhai, 4000 bucks in my case coz I couldn’t compromise on the quality bro. I had already firmed up my plans before making the booking for the hotel room. But they still haven’t pulled off that promotion just as yet like Futurebazaar RCOM promotions, that is, if Cleartrip ever had a problem with it in the first place. And definitely I didn’t have to flash them no Spice “God Damn what” airline magazine, that was doing rounds 2 weeks back. That stupid CC guy was just fcuking around with one of our members about those Spice airline magazines. LOL!

My personal feeling is that if you make a booking under Rs.2000 with them and apply for the Rs.1500 cash back, then you can either get lucky or you can forget about it all together. They can’t take a hit like that with money grubbing members like us from all over India. But say about Rs. 2500 and they definitely are listening and are looking to doing business with you. I think they personally initiate the cash backs after proper verification. So if you have the gift of the gab and believe in your abilities to get that cleartrip cashback guy/gal impressed somehow….. you still gotta shot. 1500 off on 2500 is 60% off and no monkey business involved like the travel coupons from MYDALA, KOOVS, dealsandyou etc etc etc. with their problems and misunderstandings galore. It’s just you and Cleartrip. Plain and simple as that.

(Forget the international hotel thingy, the discount comes down to nickels and dimes then)

@ramz Yup i also think that the minimum amount would be around Rs3000-4000 Have dealt with cleartrip a few times regarding the cashback offer. Last time i availed it the offer was Rs1000 cashback on a min. purchase of Rs2500 and was valid on a single night. So i booked a nice resort in Pondicherry for just Rs1500. It was an amazing experience. But the cashback was not directly initiated by them. Had to contact them throught their complaints forum(which is another first by them) and got the refund in like 10 days. Now am planning to book a hotel for 3 days so the cost would be around Rs4500(thats my budget). So i guess 3000 for 3 nights is not that bad

Better to opt for economy class though it refers refund of base fare only
