@dealsnatcher That is incorrect. 1st time I ordered on Amazon it came pre-activated. 2nd time(this thread) it wasn’t. I used the same number both times.

I raised a claim last week as the seller didn’t respond and the amount was refunded to my credit card yesterday,
Now I got a message that my axis prepaid card is loaded with 2000
I was also able to login online now and card status is active with 2000 rs

I got a message few minutes back that my card is activated out the blue. Axis didn’t respond to my mails since about 2 weeks and now suddenly it’s activated.
Looks like when they get mood to follow up with it, they will.
Got the message a couple of hours ago myself. Havent tried using it though.

Same thing hapenned to me, but 1 difference I did’t got any message regarding amount. When I logged in it was showing as 2000 loaded at 18 Hrs.:lol:
No message regarding loading of money as of now.
Yes, MY card is also active now and even I didn’t get any message from them.
I am out of town right now and don’t have card details.

Also, what if seller doesn’t respond to the mails from Amazon and Amazon refunds the money and in the meantime card gets activated?

I ordered an Axis card through Rediff & fulfilled by GCI. At that time card came deactivated., & GCI activated it. Later on Amazon I kept order for two Axis gift cards in two a/c’s. The card from the a/c which had same number (as ordered from rediff) came pre-activated but the other card came in de-activated mode. (both shipped & reached me at same date). My later order from rediff/GCI all came pre-activated. So I inferred as above.
& recently in my latest order on rediff I given the same email as previous but given a new mobile no., then the card again came de-activate.
So I thought may be the activation is linked to mobile no
still i am not able to make any payment
atm shows invalid card,web longin shows incorrect information
how are you guys returning the card its non returnable

There is option to re-charge your payment instrument if you wish to do it. 
As you all know I was able to get the card activated via my local branch and as soon as it was activated I bought another Rs 1000 card. Received that card today and it was preactivated. So bought another card today.
Suffice to say that Axis bank screwed up the cards that they sold on the deal day.

It’s not about sending inactive cards. It’s about customer support. AXIS scored 0 in that. Why would I get back to them just to save a few hundred bucks? I would just save my ass instead.

Yeah I concur. I was actually surprised at the poor after sales service and support by Axis bank. I had high expectations based on the name I guess.
On the other hand I was pleasantly surprised by the local branch here. They knew about the gift cards, found out who to contact and followed up until my card was activated.

But why the hell should I approach a local branch in the first place? What is the point of buying a GC online if activation requires all the hassles of doing things offline? Everyone does not roam around carrying an AXIS branch in their ass, for goodness’ sake. I had to spend fuel on a 10km travel to and fro, all in vain.
AMEX is thousand times better. Bought around 6 cards so far and never had to contact them for anything. Everything was available online.
Even YES Bank was better. Had to send an sms for activation. They did it as promised in their guidelines.

I understood one thing.
Axis card pre activation depends on MOBILE NUMBER which we submit while buying card
If we are buying AXIS Card with a mobile number for first time (either on GCI or AMAZON)., it comes deactivated and we had activate it ourselves.
From second time onwards you buy it on REDIFF/GCI/AMAZON it will come preactivated
