Almost each and every country have a atleast one festival of firing crackers. More crackers are burnt than Diwali on 31 dec. But all environmentalist become active on Diwali. No one even think of saying a few words on killing animals on festivals in the name of God.
saare gyan dene lagte he ki diwali par patakhe chalane se polution hota he or saara pani holi par bah jata he.
Those who r debating endless on polutiin i am sure 99% of them never planted even a single tree to save environment. I feel happy and i will surely play with crackers.

Bhai this applies on you too since you are sure no one planted a single tree ever.
So now the question is how many trees you have planted?
Or what was the best thing you did to save the environment?

Firing crackers and killing mosquitoes.

Though I would personally say no to crackers, but I do agree to your ‘animal killing’ point.
It is more convenient to describe the way hindu festivals are celebrated as non-environment friendly. But no body raises a brow when lakhs of animals are massacred on Bakrid. In fact the intelligentsia makes a lot of hue and cry for the right of the beef eaters. Hypocrisy at its best

You have to set yourself right before you point at your neighbour’s wrongs. When you request them to stop their stupid tradition, they will simply say, “You are the majority here. If you can’t give up on something so stupid just because it’s your tradition, how do you expect us minorities to do it?” On the other hand, if you have your house clean, you can shout from rooftop about cleanliness and it will be heard. Let’s talk about hypocrisy now!
to be fair, little children’s has to get their share of fun and excitement by burning crackers. We adults are educated and know the danger to nature hence avoid them.
And for the deal they might give you old stock which i cant refuse as time is near to diwali.

Here comes the saviour of little children! Have you ever observed kids? They learn from you. They do not come with the inborn desire to burst crackers. And they are quick to learn if you communicate it right. Please stop giving such lame excuses.

oh, I didn’t know that hypocrites erudites are channelizing their whole energy in setting their ‘own’ house in order, chiding their ‘own’ people ; I’m sure after this mission is accomplished, they would muster courage to be equally vocal for cruelty against animals.
By the way, did anyone notice how they have ripped off Flipkart’s logo?

Right.. So much to the name calling!!
Right.. So much to the name calling!!In the world we are in, everything we do cause some sort of polluting. You wake up and take hot water shower using electricity which is produced by the coal/gas, you take food again produced by using chemicals go to work in a car/bike/bus that release all kinds of toxins, use AC in office, take food more than you can eat and throw it because it does not taste “good” and for dinner lets have chicken or non veg which took more resources to reach to the stage to be consumed and after dinner lets talk to the parents using mobile which kills small birds and right we should stop burning crackers which cause lot of pollution.

OFF TOPIC
But i would have prefered BookMyCrackers.com
The rates are same.
1. The MRP is correct and not inflated like others.
2. The overall price is same and some times even less
3. The seller is 365 days an year and is known shop in Bangalore
Ya an bigger plus is that they have lot of new items and variety.
NOTE/DISCLAIMER: I don’t have anything to do with this shop .
This was just a simple request made here. I was not bashing any Hindu ideologies or supporting Muslim ideologies here. But see the twist people gave to this. Such is the mob mentality. When they can even rationalize killing human beings, what to say of a discussion on a virtual forum? Long Live Crooks!
VD for promoting crackers.

You are anti-Hindu, anti-Indian, Pro-Pakistan. Did you work with Osama Bin Laden? Are you ISI? How dare you speak against crackers! You stop sacrificing goats first. Even then we won’t stop firing crackers because this kills mosquitoes. WHO has approved firing crackers as the most scientific method of eradicating Dengue, Malaria, Filaria and all other areas. Run away, hypocrite!
I never counted how many trees planted n how many times i donated blood. Its just a matter of joy. Planting and cracking is personal choice. Do whatever u wish n let others do what they wish.

My sympathies are with you dear. I’ve already stated that I’m not in favour of burning crackers, the point I’m making is let’s be equally vocal when innocent animals are killed in the name of religious celebration. I was in srinagar this bakrid and I can tell you I still can’t forget the scenes of brutality against animals. Alive sheep were lying in heaps, starved of food and water for days just to make their meat tastier. I wonder why the environment saviours are not perturbed by such things.

Fine. But what about the discussion going on here? Do you have anything to say about that? Raising this irrelevant point here stifles the very point of this discussion (which even you seem to agree with).
FYKI, I’m a vegetarian and object to animal killing for any reason.
Bhailog… all we can do is take one step at a time…that doesn’t mean we are not against animal killing or pollution in general. Presently this issue prods us to take up the action. Next time on bakrid, you guys take up the leadeship, we’ll gladly follow you and spread the message. And planting trees has nothing to do with stopping yourself from bursting crackers. The former requires your time, money and effort and the latter saves all of those. You don’t need to make a conscious effort, just have to stop doing something ridiculous… easy peasy.

Sorry, but that is not a very good argument. 90% of the travel we do is useless and only for unnecessary show-off and ego-boosting and totally avoidable. Luxury cars are useless. The electricity consumed by shopping malls etc. is useless. Huge television sets, cricket matches on floodlights, movie theaters etc. are useless and serve only as entertainment and are again totally avoidable. I don’t see people protesting against these. Were people never happy before movie theaters came up?
And why do you think fire crackers do not enable good living? Fire crackers make tons of kids happy. Lots of kids wait throughout the year for the fun of diwali. The indirect pollution caused by shopping malls etc. and the direct pollution caused by luxury vehicles, etc. 24/7 throughout the year is greater by several orders of magnitude than the pollution caused a couple of days in an year by bursting fire crackers.
The media simply magnifies the issue and we fall prey to it. I’m not saying that there is no harm caused by firecrackers at all. But if you protest against firecrackers then you should do the same against shopping malls and luxury cars too. Surely, it is not wrong to expect a little balance and fairness in your critique, is it?
And the legend has @Magus is still preaching to morons (oops no name calling or calling a spade, a spade in this case)
