No! I initially used GVs to order. So ordered it blindly.
(Also, if you / anyone knows a way to transfer GV to bank, please let me know.)

actually you too are missing the point that no one is transacting with Amazon, but via the marketplace (Amazon), with the sellers.
as for personal experiences on seller fulfilled orders; well there are stated policies and there is.. how much a portal trying to expand can bend over backwards. so each experience can differ and may also be person specific. about the escrow mediation by Amazon. Yes they (other sites too) all facilitate this feature but still, as per the terms and conditions only the A2Z Guarantee points apply. In seller fulfilled or even Amazon fulfilled items they are not “liable” to replace always.
things may go OOS. (it takes 2 yo 3 minutes for any Leadership team or even Escalations person to ping their back-end for pulling off a listing. I’ve had requests made regarding data discrepancy and even as the call is in progress, they fill out thheir form or annotations sent to back-end and in minutes the listing is made currently unavailable)
many such scenarios where seller is no longer selling or for other reasons, they need not have ‘liability’ to replace.
as for me, at around 20:45 or 20:50 i saw a xyz voted up ‘feeds’ and checked Amazon. saw that the seller has a hodgepodge mix in store-front. after much deliberations, added two Wiley products (the overpriced GMAT help books). no offence to Wiley, know them well. They always make the kill in first 18-20 months by keeping marked prices at 2.5-3x of realistic selling prices.
somehow wasn’t sure if I know anyone who might be seriously preparing for phoren shtudies or these study books be of real value add in the age of the internet.
So dropped the idea to buy.
[well the real truth is; i was contemplating paying via GC versus by netbanking and in the meantime the system took off my cart. no regrets though.]

Please stop Asking for Compensations. This was not amazon’s mistake but seller. Customer care executive will end up giving your 100-200rs gift voucher to make you happy. But we should not game the system.
I am sure every one of us have bought many many products at very low price from amazon and they have done their job well.
