I somehow get the feeling that it isnt going to be so cheap. Only cheaper than the 3G plans. May be, the likes of 4 GB for Rs 250 type.
Reliance has invested close to 10 billion dollars to set up telecom infrastructure. The only way they can recover it is by poaching high ARPU customers from Airtel, Voda, Idea. If their plans are even remotely similar to other operators, nobody is going to move to them. There is a huge lust for data in India especially in areas which lacks quality broadband. Airtel and the likes have kept the desperation of people high by pricing data out of average customer’s reach. If Reliance can exploit the void created by other telcos, they have a winner. Data costs next to nothing but the infrastructure required to keep it running costs a lot. I wish Jio will disrupt the market like they did during early 2000 with voice tariffs.
Yeah, for that very reason, they have to price it lower than the other operators. To poach customers and get return on investment. But how lower, that is something totally out of speculation at the moment.
I too wish for a disruption. AVOID have been a real pain all over the body with their tariffs.

Compare and decide
https://www.mylyf.com/compare-d...es
My Vote for → Flame 6
Few confusion people have…
1. How to get sim?
1st of all you do not need any invitation to buy Jio sim if you buying the Lyf phone you automatically will get a Sim with it.
2. Is it unlimited?
Yes it is unlimited. And not 75gb. That 75gb offer is for Retailers not customers. Customers will get truly unlimited for 90 days from the date of activation.
3. What happens after 90 days?
Well after 90 days you will get plan options to recharge with which could be anywhere between Rs 100 for 10gb to Rs 100 for 1gb or most likely Jio will continue to offer the unlimited scheme.
Jio still in beta mode and they have a target of 10 crore customer base before launching their services commercially so launch is still far away.
4. Reason to buy non-expensive Lyf phone?
Well simple if you check out any Lyf phone from Rs 2999 to Rs 19999 all phones are highly expensive with very less features and it’s hard to imagine anyone will actually continue to use those phones in longer run cos those phones are not worth and only reason people buying it cos they bundling it with 90 days unlimited data. So I suggest not to invest too much money on it specially when we don’t really know what they will offer in future. For me Flame 2 is perfect bet as even after 90 days if you want can easily sell it off for 1500-2000 bucks.
But of course its totally upto an individuals decision he/she can buy higer priced model too according to their needs.
My take : Lyf phone cannot be the primary phone so use it as secondary phone and make use of the hotspot feature and connect multiple devices.
Jio is sitting on huge inventory and sales are very weak that’s the reason of price cut and of course the offer of unlimited to lure people to buy their shit phones.
PS: Even I purchased Lyf Flame 2
Anyone who is having Jio sim please pm me. I need your help

Whoever selling Lyf handset also have stock of Jio Sims which they can only give with the phone purchase.
It’s not just limited to Reliance outlets.
The base models of Flame series dont have any google app not even play store.
I am finding it difficult as the ‘LYF STORE’ application is not opening at all anyone else having same problem. Same goes to all jio apps they are nit installing becuase of this issue.
Mine is a Flame 6

Don’t buy it from any third party retailers, just visit reliance digital xpress store and buy from there. If you buy from third party retailers you might end up spending lot of time and efforts to get SIM activated.

Called Jio customer care. ‘As of now we don’t has any information on Jio 4g available cities/areas. But Jio is available across most cities & towns pan India. That said, you still has to buy a LYF phone and try yourself to know the network and availability info. We can’t guarantee 4g availability in a specific city or area’.

How is Wind 4, or Flame 2, Which one to choose out of these.
If you are buying the phone to use as primary device, stick to Wind 4. if you just need it for hotspot, Flame 2 .
flame 2 has 1500 mah battery while flame 6 which is 500 cheaper has 1750 mah battery.
can I know the reason for preferring flame 2 over flame 3/6 which come with more battery at cheaper prices

Wind 4 with 4000mah is a true value for money phone because of its high capacity and fast charging capability (yes it comes with 2A charger)… dont go for flame series, they have low battery capacity and can leave you charging the mobile through out the day. When I checked comments on forum, some are complaining that even though you turn on the hotspot and connect to charger, the charge keeps on reducing.. that actually sounds scary.. dont know if they have updated and fixed this issue… so guys check and buy….But wind 4 is OOS in most of the places.

I mean in Reliance Digital Stores in most of the cities. Also you won’t get Jio sim & unlimited offer when you purchase from Amazon.
