This is not cheap Chinese phone and will be suitable for a lot of people as it has no major shortcomings.
Best phone you can get with the price.
Powerful chipset.
Simple Design & great build quality.
Camera performs well except in low light.
MIUI is a good Android skin.
Great community to seek for help
If they can maintain decent after sale service then , others have to reduce their price or pack bags…
Samsung is number one cheater…
They say S1, S2 S3 ,S4 and S5 …S6 soon….with copy cat features they will sell the phone at very high price and later they will sell again by reducing prices and features called S3 Mini..S4 Mini…people getting looted to the max…with their cheap build structure and high price…
only missing two thing external card 64gb for hd videos
dual sim for free talking
I’m using this phone for 10 days now. Though I’m using 64GB model. As of now, the is the best phone you can buy for 14K.
A short review:
- Battery backup is awesome. I get 5 hours of on screen time.
- OS is kitkat 4.4.2 with MIUI.
- Yes, you can install play store if it doesn’t come with play store pre installed.
- Touch is very very very responsive. It works even with gloves on.
- Call reception is good too.
- I like the back the phone but I hate the capacitive buttons.. On screen buttons should have been awesome. Not a deal breaker for most people.
- I’m not so much impressed with MIUI. I like stock better.
- Please note that you wont see any ROM for this beast. Xiaomi has not provided required codes and sources for developers to build a custom ROM AFAIK. Please let me know if I’m wrong, I hope I am.
LET ME KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY QUERIES.
Also, I have one pc available with me. I imported it for 18K. I can sell it at 14K. Its a sealed pack box and white in color, 16Gig model.

They released Kernel source codes for Mi2/Mi2s/Mi2a after a year. I guess the same will apply to Mi3. They will release Kernel sources but after some time. Till then, Users can explore MIUI.

Definitely selling my HTC One Dual SIM. Always wanted a Xiaomi and now, I can get it. Time to hit up OLX and Quikr now. Very very excited to see the growth of Xiaomi and how they are going to compete in the Indian market.
Samsung, Sony, HTC, Micromax, LG – Be worried! BE VERY WORRIED!
Samsung has good after sales support?? you must be joking right?
From S2 to S3 to Note II..I moved to Sony just cause the crap after sales support of Samsung. Last experience with Galaxy Tab 2 was dreadful, I broke my sim slot fiddling microsim to the regular sim slot of Tab and went to customer service. They kept me waiting for 2 weeks and quoted 2200rs for the replacement. Even after 2 weeks they said they don’t have the sim slot replacement in stock. I asked them to return my tab and it was fully scratched from the back.
I told them about the scratches and they simply mentioned the form that I signed which mentioned “any scratches, dents is customers responsibility” got my sim slot replaced from Gaffar market Karol bagh for 400rs and sold the tab for 13k. I can go on with my experiences like heating issues with Note II and the battery was swollen in 5 months and they told me its not covered in warranty as I used it even when the phone had heating issues.
Samsung is the world’s worst crap company and I will never buy or suggest anyone to buy their products. Now, I am happily enjoying iPhone 5S, Xperia Z1 and Moto G and will be buying Xaiomi Mi3. Samsung should be called Shamesung.

There is another reason why I trust Xiaomi and have been wanting their phones for a long time now.
With the launch in Flipkart, they have also given the Service Centre list in the same page when they could have advertised more about the phone. Now, other brands like Alcatel, Huawei, Oppo, Micromax, Xolo (or Lava), Gionee all make good phones but NEVER EVER made after-sales service their priority. The Mi 3 isn’t even available for selling till the next week and already, they are doing quite a bit to reassure us of their brand value. Granted, customers should always ask for me and then only, companies will grow but already I am a happy man.
Another reason why I started loving this brand was the hiring of their Vice-President Hugo Barra. You don’t hire a high-flying flamboyant executive unless you have aimed to reach the top. Which is exactly what I want to see as a customer.
P.S. One can look at the cases and accessories available on eBay.com for Mi 3. They are stunning and there is nothing like customizing your phone with awesome accessories.
Check this video of Vice-President Hugo Barra. He left Google and joined MI for a reason. I think MI gonna rock in Indian market and other OEM’s will explode gas from their back soon.

Samsung service center strategy is to get you a refurbished PCB, and next time when any problem crops up, they will inform you that you have rooted the instrument ‘n’ times, hence the warranty is void. and will bill you near to the instrument. One of friend had a similar situation…
My friends had faced same thing with Samsung a few times.
He has decided that he will never buy any Samsung products any more

This is awesome man
2 hours repair service in philippines, this is the best any company could offer:shock:
Great price

The best phone money can buy (for those believe in VFM) right now is Oneplus One. But I am fed up waiting for it. 20 invites are thrown to 2 million people every day. WTF? Second options is Xiaomi.
Now what do Indians want? a 1 TB phone with 4 sim card slots? That is what I read in many remarks. Get life, folks. You are getting hardware at 14K, same which Samsung, Sony and HTC sell for 30K!!!
Now about warranty. I had to email the Nokia MD to get my wife’s phone fixed. Until then the service center was giving back with another issue. I am using a Galaxy Nexus which is imported. Did I ever have issues? Plenty of them. For any software issues (including the boot loop), restart in recovery mode and do a reset. Hardware issue I had was the problem with charging strip. Got it replaced at 800/- in a road side shop. I would have waited for a month in Samsung Service Center for component to arrive (from Korea, may be) and get it fixed.
You can use only a single sim, you have only 16GB (may be 13 GB for the user) and that is it. You have service centers in India, and it is way ahead of the competition. I read an article other day in a leading English daily, ‘Xiaomi brings a gun to the knife fight’. And if you understand what it means, you won’t have doubts in your mind. Sigh.
To be frank with you, till today in Warranty period I never face any mahor issue with samsung products, and if so it was sort out to our satisfaction (yes but they took nearly 15-25 days to fix as part was not with them )
Though I had issue with my last Mobile Handset, but was NOT MAJOR so I keep pushing date to visit service center and never able to visit
In my friends circle, have Samsung service center experience 4-5 year before and was VERY GOOD Experience…
Now after reading your latest experience with Samsung Note II and other device … I must think twice before advice any one to go with Samsung or even for myself too
I think EVERY brand- 99% Time -DITCH you when they found MAJOR issue with their product beyond repair
Thanks for sharing your experience
And in my experience, even the minutest of the scratch is enough for them to deny the warranty, claiming it has physical damage.

No major heat issues till now. Normal heat when I played asphalt 8 for half an hour 😛
Build quality is too good! Feels light and premium quality phone when you hold it.

Problem is as you said every brand ditch us is not correct when you have used other brand products and faced problems and they are resolved promptly. My experience with Sony, Apple and HTC is awesome. Few of my experiences :
I had an issue with Z1 which was 2-3 weeks old device and guess what? Sony replaced the phone with a brand new phone including box and every accessory. They told me that the issue is with the board and they don’t want me to wait till the board is fixed so they replaced it with a new phone.
My previous phone was iPhone 5 which I bought in Dec 2012 and it was giving me battery issues (I play tons of games 6-8hours) just when my warranty was going to expire. I called the Apple care and told them I wanted to renew my warranty for another year but not able to find the Apple care anywhere. Applecare is a service which you can buy for your phone for 3.8k to 4k which renews the warranty of your phone for another year.
They promptly told me that they have added 1 month to my already expired warranty and told me if you not able to find the Applecare till than, you need to call back to extend the warranty again. I managed to buy the Applecare from eBay for 4k, got the 1 year warranty renewed till Dec 2014. Went to the Apple care service center and they promptly replaced my phone with a brand new phone cause of the battery issue which was confirmed by the care representative. Mind you my iPhone had a dent at the bottom cause it was fallen which was clearly visible still they agreed to replaced it with no questions asked.
Generally they give you refurbished products which are as certified Apple products but since I had issues to buy Applecare and have called the Apple customer service, the agent with whom I talked actually noted my issue in their system and when I went to Apple service center they were aware of my battery problem and told me its a gesture to keep our customers happy. This is how the customer service should treat their customers.
I can go on and on with other brands which I have tried and faced issues which were resolved promptly. I’m a big gadget junkie and usually buy every new phone which I like.
You buy a 30-40k device and than expectations build up that you will be treated like a good customer, but Samsung on the other hand does completely opposite. Most of the Samsung care will treat you like a stupid dog who came to visit just for the sake of getting the phone repaired for free. They find reasons to avoid repairing your phone, tablet in warranty. Scratches, dents you name it and they will just mark it as consumer fault. Few of you might have enjoyed the awesome Samsung customer service but for me who visited 3-4 different service centers in my area has build up the expectation that they are just crap.
Sorry for such a long story but people should be aware of such things as a buyers.
In Singapore 10000 pieces of mi3 is sold in just 4.2 seconds.

This is awesome man
Haha I know man. I am a big fan of Hugo Barra and respect him just the way he used to talk in Google I/O. He is a crazy scientist who love to experiment with products. I bet MI will change the way we used to spend on flagship phones and tablets in coming years.
First step towards it has already begin
Please don’t misunderstand me as a Xiaomi agent. I always appreciate start ups who innovate That is just why I mentioned Oneplus earlier.
http://www.techinasia.com/xiaomi-mi3-10-million...
They have already sold 10 million handsets in 9 months. What would change when same thing comes to India? Also, who would you wait for the ‘First of all’, ‘Second of all’ crappy Flipkart reviews? Just Google it and you will get aplenty. They are not making India-specific devices. And we will really have to see how many people registered will get to buy it, come 22nd.
Also I read someone mentioning it runs Android 4.4.2, I see 4.3 and MIUI V5 in flipkart.
Xiaomi is doing the same as Motorola did with Moto E. The strategy is to bring one lot of phones and then see if they sell. If they will sell those phones then Flipkart will import another batch. And likewise Xiaomi will spread it’s service centers and product line in India. My CC is in mail. If it arrives within the time then will order it.
