Some companies i have or im looking at as they have become attractive (though still in extensive search mode)

persistent, gvk, l&t finance, kovai medical, gujarat flurochem, ptc finance, eil, bajaj corp, yes bank and ramco cement. Of these i own eil, ptc fin, bajaj corp and yes bank. I seldom buy a share and only buy for 10-15 years horizon. So beware before jumping to buy.

Funds i have, already advised in other thread, all havibg sip/STP – sbi bluechip, uti equity, franklin prima plus and sbi midcap. going forward looking to add icici exports fund and birla india opportunity in small chunks.

Will advise to buy mutual funds for person who cant track market 24×7. And tracking doesn’t means looking at the price, you have to go through each small thing. You dont own a stock you become partner in company so should be aware of what’s going. Thus avoid stocks and play safe.

its not at all difficult. Warren buffet started buying shares at age 11. But before that he used to read books. Of any kind, of all kind. The library he used to visit claims by 11 he read all the books available in there.

Read good books on stocks, value investing, economy and most important how to read account books of company. Next thing is know about what company do, who runs it, its debt and profits, its past performance. You are done. Find few companies with atleast 20% annual returns and low p/e (which you will learn by how to read account books), cash rich and debt freee and a good management that runs it. You will be 1 step away from good stock searcher. Learning is forever process. Keep learning.

risk is there in all forms of investmens be it gold, fixed deposits or real estate. Historically stock markets are known to beat inflation rate in returns. And that’s everyone’s possible goal should be, beating inflation.

Fixed deposits or any money in bank is insured upto 1 lac rupees. Land value can diminish. Gold came from 34000 to 23000 and is hovering near 25-26000. but economy will continue to grow or worst go down.

It’s asset allocation which is more important in saving from risk then staying away totally from market. Ideally 100 minus your age ahould be invested in market preferably through mutual fund. Some part of this should go in protecting future that is buying health insurance and term insurance. Rest should go to fixed deposits or debt funds. Similarlly one should also posses a home, some gold and run recurrening deposit. Thats risk management you can try. No one knows about future. And no one knows what risks can come. But one fact is clear, penny saved today is hundreds earned in future.

In case of bank getting burst, which has happened to many high interest paying co operative banks specially in maharashtra and tamilnadu, bank will give you sum of rs 1 lac only for whatever deposits you had. With recent exposure in NPA rising there can be more banks getting insolvent. It’s matter of a scam or getting bad loans out of control.

Jaiprakash Associates if it defaults. It can take a lot of banks with it.

No one going to earn Intraday.
If you are doing intraday you will end up in zero balance.
If you are playing naked options then you will end up in zero balance 10 times faster.
If you are doing it for long term then you have some chances.
I have developed so many systems in Amibroker but find none consistent.
Only good way to earn is option strategies with hedging.
