I will quote/paraphrase a part of my message that I sent to somebody recently on this same topic.
I would like to point you to Wikipedia articles on the ‘Online disinhibition effect’ and the ‘Greater Internet Fuckwad Theory’. And an overwhelming majority of these new users are teenagers or man-children who don’t have the maturity to understand the point of such morals in real life, let alone the virtual life.
Despite all that, the oath on my thread has been a successful deterrent! Apparently, the same dimers who don’t even bat their eyelashes while looting and cheating ecommerce companies do realize the difference when trying to cheat a fellow dimer. Sure, there were a few depraved, cheating a$$wipes who don’t value their own words/promises, but that’s how it’s in even real life. Just because some people choose to be a$$wipes, doesn’t mean the rest of us should do the same.
