Few year back i bought duke 250 ... its good for travelling for long distance ... but in city its milage is really very less... so i had decided to buy a Activa... but now i am confused.. shud i go for electric vehicle one or petrol ?
or suggest me a best electric under 1L.

I own an Ola S1X+ bought about 2 months back. I bought it for 1lakh. The price has dropped even more now. Apart from few software glitches and one hardware glitch(couldn't start the scooter) the scooter has served me fine. The ride quality is good and the scooter can reach speeds of 90kmph. I have driven it for 400kms till now. Ather is certainly a better product but also much pricier. I was using my car to commute to office, so in comparison cost for an EV scooter is 1/10. Not considering any maintenance costs or charging cost(I always charge for free at office) for the EV scooter, I should be able to recover the cost if i use it for 10k kms.
Bhai majority of people have their own if and but and are sceptic about EV and not want to change, but you know sooner or later one has to adopt EV. Delhi has already set the target of 2030 for only EV to be sold. It is already 2024 and you must be buying the scooty for at least 5 years, in this time a lot of things will be improved w.r.t EV infra.
So jo EV use kar rhe hain unse suggestion lo.
If your usage for daily commute of around 50 km, go for Ev else Petrol.
I will prefer ev but after 5 years. And yes adopting the latest technology is not easy so people will say crap,worst etc to EV but technology will eat these words in upcoming years .
I would always recommend to please go with conventional I.C.E. mobility and ride/drive safe, steady by following the traffic rules and live long.
For electric mobility there isn't any charging network grid, let alone charging points properly established and maintained for users. If one runs out of fuel there are always petrol bunks (thankfully this at least exists) around in the urban environment to get sorted out without much delay.
Another very important point is that batteries which are Lithium Polymer are dangerous and unsafe for mobility. Most of the batteries used in EVs are likely Ghhyyna made and they tend to catch fire easily due various factors like chemicals reactions, moisture, temperature and pressure. I have no idea how one would get compensated properly after going up in flames.
Electric mobility can work for public city commute vehicles like buses just like local trains.

why dont they stop giving useless Rs. 10000-20000 tablet size screen (with cpu ram os (so its full tablet)) and reduce price by 10k. And should give free solar panel charger. And always with battery setting divided in minimum 2 parts.
But I think battery should be highly customisable, so much that EV is available without a battery. ALL electric vehicle motors should come to common voltage amp watt size-per-slot standards and ALL future batteries for vehicles too should be like generic standard for anyone with any brand's EV. If single motor's volts too is standardized then it will cut cost to put inverter in EV. Some other parts should also be optional and customisable with universal size like suspension, seat, extra airbags, protective grills, screen/speaker, tyres, lights, 1000W (give free with ev) to 100KW charger compatibility. They should even leave empty slot for extra motor, till then use the slot space for luggage storage like removable cng cylinder. UN and govt should force all this customization

I have Ola S1 and I recommend Ola scooter and I recommend it without any hesitation. it has claimed range of 100 but I only use it on sports mode and gives me 65-70 KM range with aggressive driving, so if your daily running is 60km or less then go for it .
I have used it in Rain, water up to knees , crazy heat , bad roads and not problems so far. battery is as good as new after 2 years. Zero maintenance so far.

Never purchase EV vehicle... maxm Ev manufacturer are not providing required services... you will surely loose your money

my Activa 4G scooter just gives 30km/lit. I am fed up filling the tank. Can I sell and buy Ola EV? My usage is 100km/week.
If investing 1Lac + for Petrol vehicle, keep in mind that on every KM 3-4RS Need to spent on petrol + Oil + Maintenance. None of the Petrol Vehicles gives Average as claimed by Company.
Better to go for EV considering the above facts. Try Hero Vida / Chetak from reputed brand. Practically if you calculated if your run is very less. You would be charging 7-10 Days a month. That Means in yearly you would be charging approximately 50 Times. Life of Li-ION NC Battery is approximately 1000-1500 Cycles depending on quality of battery used.
so for full range consideration 700 cycles that comes to 10-14 years if maintained properly for 100KMs a week.
EV Maintenance includes:
1) Avoid complete battery discharge. Charge between 15-90%.
2) Avoid keeping vehicle in Direct Sunlight all the day.
It's true EV Industries is in initial stage. But Driving an EV is complete Butter Smooth Experience.

Ola is a good scooter but the service is PATHETIC. So i'd suggest don't buy OLA.

I am using Bajaj Chetak EV frm last 1year & i am vry happy that I chose EV over active petrol. I was too confused but after intensive research for almost 3 months i selected Bajaj Chetak EV bcoz:
1. Increasing Petrol prices
2. Having Trust of Bajaj brand, dont want to experiment with new startups, & dont want to buy any ev with fire cases.
3. Built Quality is equal to any Petrol Scooter
4. Driving comfort is way too smooth & good compared to petrol scooter
5. I was not looking for vry high speed or vry high range as i live in main /old part of city where traffic is vry high, & hv to use breaks a lot . Chetak top speed & range was perfect for my need.
Now after 1 year : I am still vry happy with the performance of my chetak. In starting months i was getting 80-85 kms range with a mix of single & double riders. But with time my driving style improved now even after 1 yr i m getting 90-100 kms range ( yes shocking but true) with same usage & conditions. Got No issue in EV till date
Moreover , i personally dont worry abt the future prices of the battery as with time & technology improvement, prices of such things usually do not remain the same & reduce
So , every person has different experience & needs, so its better to do ur own research according to ur need bro. Set ur own preferences like for me its more abt Built quality , Safe ( no fire cases), comfort & freedom frm petrol.
& Yes i forget to mention wht i dont like abt chetak : only 2 things

10-15 kms on an Activa is a big pain in the butt. Don't go with it.
EVs never have been or will be a solution to environmental pollution. They are just temporary until a better technology comes into the market which works on Bio fuels or Flex fuels like Hydrogen cell and ethanol blended fuels.
Also you can't trust an EV for out of city rides and they are not at all flexible and practical compared to Petrol vehicles.
Just decide based on your use case, not for saving costs

I will not consider any electric two-wheeler unless it's under a lakh with a minimum of 300KM+ real-world range. I travel almost 40 KM everyday and I don't want the hassle of charging my two wheeler everyday.

We're on the 6th Gen Activa and every scooter we purchased was reliable, abosultely no problem in the last 16+ years. Regular servicing and they remained trouble free.
Even at the time of selling, all our Activas fetched a good price.
I would suggest waiting a couple more years before spending money on an EV two wheeler; buy an Activa instead. Petrol vehicles aren't going anywhere for the next five years.
Buy petrol bike and bike only not scooty because in scooty you will get low mileage Plus I feel scooty good for seniors or ladies only
Also don't buy 2nd hand bike, buy latest bs6 engine bike, they emit less smoke and are more efficient and silent

Using vida plus . So far good . 5 yrs warranty on battery and they share charging stations with aether . As of now have tried charging stations in their service centres , just 1 hrs for 80 percent of battery charging. Yet to try aether.
Charging at home is nearly 5 hrs for full charge. Range ~ 100 kms. Best for local drives and adhoc work. not suitable for long distance daily drives.

You should ALWAYS go for the petrol vehicles and that too for the most popular models. I had bought an electric two-wheeler named Ampere Zeal Ex at 69400 after some discount+10000 for registration etc at Hyderabad from Flipkart when the FAME II subsidy was still a thing. Please find my horrible experience in the following paragraphs. And you should know, I am back to using my Activa 5th gen and extremely happy about it. And another thing, I feel it is ethical to reduce emissions as much as possible, while I might not be an environmentalist at the tree-hugger level, I am conscious and sensitive about the environmental issues.
1) the battery started degrading within one year of use (5 days/week*34 kms/day-rainy days-holidays), if I didn't charge the battery everyday the second morning, battery indicator will drop overnight 2) Taking out battery and charging at home is painful, the battery is heavy and it takes indefinitely long time to charge 3) The advertised range was 120 kms and the maximum I got since the first day is around 70 kms 4) The service center charged me 10k to replace the battery within 1 year although it was under warranty, they told me if I pay 10k I'd get a new battery else they will give me some used battery 5) During rain when I had to cross puddles, water would seep into the lower side of the battery compartment and it was visible, thankfully the wiring was on the upper side 6) Maximum adverised speed was 50km/hr, initially it will reach 60kms/hr at sports mode easily, and 35kms.hr on normal mode, within days that was reduced to 50 in sports and 30 in eco but whenever battery would go low, the speed will be 20 km/hr like a bicycle 7) If the vehicle had any problem, however minor, local mechanics were not trained to fix it 8) if the vehicle had any damage, however minor, no parts were ever available with the dealership,only place that could do any service to the vehicle, and you needed to leave the vehicle with them and wait for their call. No work was ever done in less than 2 weeks. They took more than a month to give me battery replacement (although I didn't have to leave the vehicle with them on that occasion) 9) The new battery costed around 35k and it was clearly stated that within 18 months I'd need a new battery without ever mentioning any recommended mileage 10) Finally, to add insult to the injury, the showroom I bought from closed down and there is still a showroom somewhere in old Hyderabad which is more than 50 kms away from my home where I cannot even possibly reach on that scooter.
Now, the second phase. I listed it on Olx at 60k as soon as the old battery was replaced, FAME II subsidy was gone by that time, and I received absolutely no interests, no one called, not a single soul, complete radio silence. I had posted great pictures of the scooter taken when it was new with lush green background in my society. The new electric 2 wheelers were starting at 80k+ at this point of time (May 2023), I reduced it to 55k and then 50k. At 50k, a month since my original posting, I received my first interest, an offer at 35k. I laughed off at the offer and kept on waiting. By June middle, I have reduced the price to 45k and I'd only receive offers at 31,500, the minimum offer the buyers are allowed to send (70% of my listed price). Then sometime in the last week of June, a student from JNTU offered 35k and sang long essays of dukhda (sufferings) when I asked for 40k. I asked him to come and take a look. He came and we finalized the price at 36k. So I got 36k for a one year old scooter that I spent at least 90k on. Keep away from electric two wheelers.
