@Rosh_0007 stay with petrol bro.
After 5–8-year battery replacement cost will eat up whole vehicle price.
I mean the saving will be so low that won't be able to recover that battery cost.

Any vehicle other than EV is good.

Cycle

Car ( petrol )

3 wheeler ( petrol / deasel )

EV is just a scam done by billionaire like Elon to earn 100 times money .

In upcomming thousand of year crude oil is not going to finish.

You should ALWAYS go for the petrol vehicles and that too for the most popular models. I had bought an electric two-wheeler named Ampere Zeal Ex at 69400 after some discount+10000 for registration etc at Hyderabad from Flipkart when the FAME II subsidy was still a thing. Please find my horrible experience in the following paragraphs. And you should know, I am back to using my Activa 5th gen and extremely happy about it. And another thing, I feel it is ethical to reduce emissions as much as possible, while I might not be an environmentalist at the tree-hugger level, I am conscious and sensitive about the environmental issues.

1) the battery started degrading within one year of use (5 days/week*34 kms/day-rainy days-holidays), if I didn't charge the battery everyday the second morning, battery indicator will drop overnight 2) Taking out battery and charging at home is painful, the battery is heavy and it takes indefinitely long time to charge 3) The advertised range was 120 kms and the maximum I got since the first day is around 70 kms 4) The service center charged me 10k to replace the battery within 1 year although it was under warranty, they told me if I pay 10k I'd get a new battery else they will give me some used battery 5) During rain when I had to cross puddles, water would seep into the lower side of the battery compartment and it was visible, thankfully the wiring was on the upper side 6) Maximum adverised speed was 50km/hr, initially it will reach 60kms/hr at sports mode easily, and 35kms.hr on normal mode, within days that was reduced to 50 in sports and 30 in eco but whenever battery would go low, the speed will be 20 km/hr like a bicycle 7) If the vehicle had any problem, however minor, local mechanics were not trained to fix it 8) if the vehicle had any damage, however minor, no parts were ever available with the dealership, only place that could do any service to the vehicle, and you needed to leave the vehicle with them and wait for their call. No work was ever done in less than 2 weeks. They took more than a month to give me battery replacement (although I didn't have to leave the vehicle with them on that occasion) 9) The new battery costed around 35k and it was clearly stated that within 18 months I'd need a new battery without ever mentioning any recommended mileage 10) Finally, to add insult to the injury, the showroom I bought from closed down and there is still a showroom somewhere in old Hyderabad which is more than 50 kms away from my home where I cannot even possibly reach on that scooter.

Now, the second phase. I listed it on Olx at 60k as soon as the old battery was replaced, FAME II subsidy was gone by that time, and I received absolutely no interests, no one called, not a single soul, complete radio silence. I had posted great pictures of the scooter taken when it was new with lush green background in my society. The new electric 2 wheelers were starting at 80k+ at this point of time (May 2023), I reduced it to 55k and then 50k. At 50k, a month since my original posting, I received my first interest, an offer at 35k. I laughed off at the offer and kept on waiting. By June middle, I have reduced the price to 45k and I'd only receive offers at 31,500, the minimum offer the buyers are allowed to  send (70% of my listed price). Then sometime in the last week of June, a student from JNTU offered 35k and sang long essays of dukhda (sufferings) when I asked for 40k. I asked him to come and take a look. He came and we finalized the price at 36k. So I got 36k for a one year old scooter that I spent at least 90k on. Keep away from electric two wheelers.

Don't opt for an EV scooter solely based on fuel savings. EV scooters are not as durable, and their electric parts, like batteries and chargers, often malfunction over time. You might end up spending more on repairs and maintenance for an EV scooter than for a petrol-based one. EV is dabba gaari

According to your use,Stick to ur duke is better option

For daily run 15-25 kms Go for activa 110 and for more than 25kms go for chetak or vida or aether

The reasoning in the post only implies you should stay with your Duke 250. Investing 80k on a scooter just for difference in mileage is madness. If there are other reasons, then it's a different case.

Totally depends on how much you travel everyday

Like if you travel 20-30K avg per day in the city area, EV makes sense

If its 5-10K then not

Calculate in a simple way

The running cost per km for a scooty is 3-4 rs ( milage 35-40)

While the running cost per km of EV is less than 0.25 rs but lets us consider its 1RS .

Now if you travel say 35 km it will cost u 100 rs worth of fuel

While an EV will cost u less than 35 Rs

An Ola scooty comes with warranty of 8OK km

So for 80K km the fuel cost is like 2.80-3L

While for an EV its 8K only

Now withing the warranty period u can save more than the actual cost of that EV

This is a raugh calculation

So dont scold me for anything like maintanence etc 🫡

Sorry for back to back replies

But this point i need to mention

My friend do travel 65 km daily with his ola  S1

And he is highly satisfied with the service of it

Yes EV comes with some cons too

But if someone travel more than 30Km per day it do makes sense.

Go for petrol vehicle as of now..

As Electrical Vehicle is still an evolving technology, lot more to change  in next couple of years.

Buy a electric cycle ....

1) good for your heart (cardio increase lifespan)

2) no fuel needed so pocket friendly ♥️

Absolutely right. Driving an electric cycle since Jan 2020. The real intent was to improve health.

I saw a substantial difference in health in the 1st year itself. Pocket friendliness was an added feature.

I am using an electric scooty for last two years and no complaints so far. Battery health is still same and it gives me 100-110 km range in one charge.

I did only free service which were for first one year only. Since last one year no service, still scooter runs without an issue.

I have completed 4500km so far.

Yes, go for a popular choice like chetak, ather, ola instead.

Although I bought Pure Ev eTrans Neo and the service center has closed down in a year, hence I mentioned to go for a popular one.

Always go for petrol vehicle.. as ev still now is not a good option in budget.. if you have a lots of money to waste then only go for ev. As everyone is saying it's eco friendly but really it's affect to environment almost near to petrol vehicle. So judge smartly

Just met one guy who bought ola 1.5 years ago, he have crossed 56000kms , upon calculations he saved almost 120000/-

My suggestion , if your daily run is more then you can consider ev otherwise go for petrol

how to get govt subsidy. who to talk for citizen benefits. how to get income certificate, who to talk. Need to buy ev from govt ?

But I will wait for agriculture Drone to get cheap instead of EV Bike as village people are already flying/hanging on 50KG fertilizer/pesticide carrying drone with 5lac-10lac subsidy. So I wont need stressful comparison of 70k petrol bike vs 1lac ev bike, but easy one: 10crore helicopter vs Free Drone (or upto 10lac without subsidy).

And look at that now

( Joking. DGCA Laws will never allow to fly these outside farms. Have to get ev car/scooter )

BUT BUT bigggest problem is cheap dead batteries. Problem is battery, not ev motor.

Lithium alternatives Sodium Magnesium etc can run longer but have to wait till 2030 for test pass. Best is to buy generic ev without any battery so we can buy our own fresh and best brand compatible lithium battery fitting generic ev slot (standard volts, amp, size). But nobody is going to standardize battery ratings and slot size I think, because scammer ev makers earn from selling low quality batteries and replacement at high price with hidden warranty TnC

Why not companies manufacturer Solar based car/bike or those with h20 ?

Companies just bluff around to get more from consumers by creating such hype and myths.

Better stick to petrol

I had the same question while buying a two wheeler last year. I would recommend to go for Jupiter 125 which is the best 125 cc scooter. I have been using it for more than an year and it beats activa 125.

I had test driven Ather, ola s1, okinawa and some more electric two wheelers and the build quality itself was damn poor. You feel like you are riding a bicycle at high speed.

I wont even get into the battery replacement costs after 5 yrs. Ev still has atleast 10 more years to go before we can term it reliable in the scooter industry.

EVs are for short distances.

Also they don't seem safe.

But savings are high

Go through pros and cons and decide

For now, Petrol but in future maybe EV cause sooner or later this government or any future government will curb oil import or be less dependent on petrol because India will cross more than 50°c in future. And to stop global warming dependency on petrol needs to be controlled.

But yes, for now at least petrol as EV build quality is shit.
