Both are bitter in taste. For first, you come to know when she opens her mouth and starts in Chinese. For second, when you open it and start drinking.

Had been for a few days few years ago
- shanghai downtown is awesome. You can have fun in the evenings :p
- its going to be cold!
- food – not very easy if you are a strict vegetarian and want anything beyond rice. Btw Chinese food there is not ok for us either. Make sure you know how to adapt it to your needs (tobasco, oregano, garlic, salt etc)
- people are curious to speak to you coz u speak English. You can become a part time tutor for girls ;p
- it is expensive.. plan accordingly for your stay if you are paying from your pocket
- Chinese people are selfish.. beware of them.. at least initially.. they are rude.. unlike the Japanese (as a comparison)
How long will you be going? For what purpose?
- Carry a picture book for interacting with common people..
- keep a print of your addresses in Chinese.. and some common sentenced in Chinese so thst you can show and ask. Taxi drivers too don’t follow English.. so take care…
- go around when you can.. China is different when you move 100km out of the city centre..

I had always gone with smaller ones, but what is the benefit with the taller ones.

I was being offered a work visa but it seems like Chinese people are not liked by anyone. I have turned down the proposal and I am open for distance work arrangements now. Heard that they don’t favour Indian and our relations too aren’t very best. One of the thing I noticed was this person didnn’t cleared anything at first go knowing the fact that China is totally different country/culture for me.

Dont’ worry if you get a Chinese gf, the ties between Indian and China will improve faster.
