Need suggestions for Smart TV/STB

I already have a wifi connection. I don't wanna pay or subscribe to OTTs additionally. Even if I do, I'd rather buy it separately instead of bundled.

Currently, we don't have a TV at home. I wanna buy one & can go with either, a simple one with some way to make it smart or a smart TV by default or something like Fire Stick maybe? I don't have much experience in this regard.

I'll not use it much, only my parents who're old.

I'm a tech pro & I'll def need a smooth experience overall that's bloatware, ad free. I'll be filtering the traffic with a DNS server to remove ads as much as possible.

I don't have much idea of how much budget should I take for a good experience. Consider it to be in the entry level ranges but for a good experience with quality brands only. Spending won't be an issue but quality is a priority. So imagine the budget to be in the range for affordable, good quality product & a good overall experience.

To get an idea of my preference, I like Google Pixel > Moto > Samsung/OnePlus because of the software experience.

I also use Revanced, Stremio & similar stuff.

What would you suggest I buy?

Would have suggested Apple TV 4k as you are looking for "a smooth experience overall that's bloatware, ad free"

But I guess in your scenario since you want stremio, go with firetv stick 4k max (Sadly can see 4k max is no longer available, it is faster than just the 4K one)  or the 4k version.

I have chromecast / FiretvStick 4k / 4k max / Apple TV 4K and definitely the inbuilt android OS, all on different TVs in the household. Any day I will prefer the Apple TV 4K over everything else. But with apple you will need bypasses to use stremio, probably not worth the effort or money in your case.
