Which model are u using
HP after sales service is good however their extended warranty is bit on high side, i was using HP earlier, had to pay 5500 for 1yr extended service
only problem they have is heating problem
http://www.flipkart.com/computers/laptops/hp/it...
i am getting the below from local dealer for 39999 , with 2000 titan gift voucher, MTS mblaze device, reebok scratch card, and 3rd part access worth 350
agree with tanuj
the heating problem is being witnessed in i5 processor
it may be due to the fact all processors are being developed keeping US climate conditions
were as there is at least 10 degree of temp. diff. in US & India
hp after sale service is good- Super Agree
but what abt cons of hp-
heating problem (due to heating prob we can face motherboard/battery prob in future), battery is average still appreciable, same specification models rs 10k lower
so 10k is enough money to spend for service(if the other manufacturers does not rectifies the prob, i think they will give after sale support too)
suggest not to go wid hp
I’m using Dell Studio 15. If you see brand wise then Dell and HP are both powerhouses. So their warranty extension is bit on a higher side. If you want i5 then go for the 1118TX model. It has got great specs. But still i would suggest you to go with i3 only in 34k + 2.5k discount
@dipipedia
what kind of computing u do
like i just do multimeda usage + surfing and for that i3 is enough
if u wanted to use for work too then go for i5
I will also suggest HP Pavilion G6 because:
A.Best Configuration
B.HP Brand is best among the 3 and they really have a good after sales service as Tanuj said
C.Weight 2.3 Kg (Lightest among all)
Disadvantage:
A.Memory Slots 2 (Unused Slot – 0)
@insatiable Dude there is a considerable amount of difference between the Toshiba and HP one. HP has got a 1GB graphic card which itself is around 4-5k and its a 15inch screen. Moreover you are getting VERBATIM STORE N GO USB DRIVE 8 GB RETRACTABLE WORTH RS 1500 free though the webcam is same.
@tanuj thats why i asked dipipedia what kind of computing u need
average users really dont need an dedicated graphics card unless u r a IT professional / Gamer
Also check for the following differences:
Weight
USB Port
Speakers
Graphics
Screen Size
Operating System
System Memory
Clock Speed
Free PD
Toshiba Laptop is ahead only on Ram
Paying 10K for all this and for a better Brand+After Sales service is not bad
@insatiable agree that graphics card is not needed but it improves your laptop’s performance. You can easily make out the difference even by running simple software’s like even VLC media player. Moreover a laptop without a graphic card is totally outdated.
i need it waise toh basically for normal computing, watching movies, listening music i play light version games..
I recently ordered Dell Inspiron (2nd gen i5, 4 gb ram, Nvedia graphic card, 3 yr accidental coverage, 500 gb HDD for 48K for my brother) Now i am bit reluctant to spend much, present laptop which i am using is 2006 make fully outdated. I desperately need a change
@Dipi Final Suggestion
Go for HP Pavilion G6 1117TX laptop @34680-2500+3850(2 years carry-in warranty)
Final price 36030
3 years of PEACE!!
letsbuy is providing 3rd party extended warranty, came to knw after having chat with letsbuy representative
So what have you decided upon, you don’t have all the time you need I suppose.
@dipi Thats a good point but still it will cover all your laptop problems
Go for HP Pavilion G6 Dipesh
Thanks Guys for the valuable suggestions, I also now feel that i shld go with HP laptop
now i am confused seeing the price
http://www.flipkart.com/computers/laptops/hp/it…
(Free HP Branded Backpack, Onsite Accidental Damage Protection & 12 months McAfee AntiVirus subscription Worth Rs 2,240 )
(called flipkart, they said stock will be up soon)
33380
http://www.letsbuy.com/hp-pavilion-g61117tx-not…
(VERBATIM STORE N GO USB DRIVE 8 GB RETRACTABLE WORTH RS 1500)
34680 -2500 = 32180
hehe..:-p Go with letsbuy!
and shld i go for the 3rd party extended warranty??
http://www.serveprowarrant...m/
trying their no since evening, they are not picking up the call
Q5. What are the types of service options available?
The extended warranty works broadly under two plans except in few cases for different products-
Carry in Service – This means that when Intarvo Call Centre diagnoses a hardware problem in the product then you will be required to carry the defective unit along with the copy of the plan to the authorized Service Centre. The cost of replaced components, parts and labor will be borne entirely by Intarvo; while the costs for transportation of the defective unit to the authorized service centre and collecting it back will be borne by the customer.
Onsite Service – This means if the Intarvo call centre diagnoses a hardware problem, then it will schedule a visit of an engineer to your premises from the nearest authorized service centre. In this case all the cost of labor, travel, components will be borne by the company. However if your location is more than 40 km away from the nearest authorized centre then you will be required to carry the defective unit along with. In such a case the cost of travel will be borne by the customer whereas the cost of parts and repair will be borne by the company.
I would suggest you to order from Flipkart.
HP Branded Backpack + Onsite Accidental Damage Protection + 12 months McAfee AntiVirus subscription are a big plus with the laptop.
You would need all these things eventually and so i think that you should buy them now only
will be going for 6 month EMI 6045 per month for 6 months
Doston Dipesh ko itna confuse mat karo
Uske pass vaise bhi sirf 2 ghante hain
i think chose any one from this two-
samsung- http://www.letsbuy.com/samsung-r-series-rv518-a…
pro- look
toshiba- http://www.letsbuy.com/toshiba-satellite-c-seri…
pro- less priced with 4gb
cons- i think it has matt finish look (not sure)
before buying just have a look at this too-
sony http://cgi.ebay.in/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&it…
@dipipedia

1) bcoz of coupon
2) 6 months EMI option
3) trustworthy
@Dipipedia Congrats
glad to hear it worked…
all the best with ur new laptop
@Dipi I would suggest you to go for HP Pavilion G6 laptop. HP is very good in providing after sales service
Moreover there is not much difference in terms of performance b/w i3 and i5 processor if u want the laptop for just basic things and not for high-end gaming and huge applications. I would suggest to go for i3 as i am experiencing overheating problem in my i5 laptop
If Toshiba is fine with you then that laptop is also good. But screen is 14inch,no graphics card and webcam is bad.
