i didn’t see the reference to context but the pinging has to be verbatim as per current display name is a known fact.

may be some way can be made to keep the favourites (followers/ followees) in a ready reckoner list that can be tagged easily by selecting (for those who aren’t on the computer)

quicker way of doin this is add 2 'a i.e . @ before and after the username without spaces

this also useful when your browser doesnot support javascript or have disabled javascript like me
