For the first time, Facebook is letting its users identify themselves as a gender other than male and female. The social media giant has added a customisable option with about 50 different terms people can use to identify their gender as well as three preferred pronoun choices: him, her or them. A message on Facebook might now invite a userâs friend to write a birthday message on âtheirâ wall, instead of âhisâ or âherâ wall.
The basic user profile for members now includes a customisable category among the gender types that users must select, Facebook announced on Thursday. The feature was first rolled out (like many other Facebook features) to users with their language settings as US English.
The new feature is aimed at giving people more choices in how they describe themselves, such as androgynous, bi-gender, intersex, gender fluid or transsexual.

Google may implement Ultrasonic Password Security for your accounts
A Startup Company, SlickLogin has developed a technology that enables you to login into online accounts using Ultrasonic sound, instead of entering username and password.
The company claims its technology offers “military-grade security” that replaces passwords in the two-step process simply by placing your Phone next to their laptop or tablet.
When you sign-in via SlickLogin enabled website, the computer will play a sound which is encrypted into Ultrasonic Sound, inaudible to the human ear, but your Smartphone can hear it.
The Smartphone Sends data back to the SlickLogin Servers for authentication and grants immediate access. Each sound is different, unique and cannot be reused to hack an account.
