Why Amazon is better than Flipkart any day (Amazon has become even worse than Flipkart nowadays)

Update : Never expected that Amazon would go to the dogs so soon.
I have bought many mobiles from Flipkart over a period of years. There have been at least 5 instances when the price of the mobile came down (once as high as 1000 bucks) within two or three days of delivery. Not a single time have they compensated it so far in the form of a GV or wallet money. Every time those parrots keep repeating the same old thing… Prices depend on the seller and we cannot do anything about it, blah, blah, blah… Even though the seller has been WSRetail in all these instances. Since I’m not used to persuasive or coercive talking, I just listen to this sh!t and cut the call.
Had this been Amazon, things would happen exactly the opposite way. If Both Amazon and Flipkart continue with what they are doing, I’m sure Flipkart will be watered down by Amazon very soon.
Mark my words, Flipkart: “Your days are numbered!”
YOU!

I had a very bad experience with Amazon today.
To begin with, they were not clear about the terms and conditions for the SBI cashback offer. I had to spend almost my entire day on getting things clarified about this. Many of their agents were not even able to understand what I was trying to convey. They all reminded me of Flipkart except for one agent whom I spoke to at the end of the day. For example, here is the email exchange between us in this regard:
Me:
According to the terms, only amazon.in gift cards and gold coins are
excluded from the SBI cashback offer.
1. If all the gift cards on Amazon are ineligible, why specify amazon.in
gift cards in the FAQs? (Check Attachment 1)
2. The offer banner is displayed on the Woohoo Gift Cards page. (Check
Attachment 2)
It’s because of this ambiguity in presentation that I got lured to place
the order. Now I’m not able to cancel the order because it’s already in process. I’m
told that it could be cancelled only after dispatch. Should I then wait
till it reaches back the seller to get my money refunded?
I would not have even thought of ordering it if you had simply written that
all gift cards are excluded from this offer and had not displayed the
banner on the product page.
Now my money close to 15000 is blocked for another two weeks. It is not
even credit card but debit card. Why should the customer suffer because of
your mistakes? What is the point in just repeating everywhere Amazon is the
most customer-centric company on earth? Disappointing!
Amazon:
As per your concern, I have checked the details and found that the cashback is not applicable on purchase of Amazon.in gift cards and/or gold coins.
Hence you are not eligible for the cashback offer.
So, in that case you can cancel the order once it get dispatched and place a new order.
…
I was like… WTF! And this was the case with almost every agent I encountered today. First of all, it took me half an hour even to make the first agent understand the terms were misguiding. After a long explanation, he understood my point but said that according to his resources the card was not eligible for the cashback. I asked him to intimate the promotion team to change the terms accordingly. He had done it immediately but the concerned team did not take it seriously, it seems. The last agent admitted their fault and promised me that it would be done ASAP. I wonder if their promotion team is concerned about those who might have ordered it based on the terms and the banner. Such negligence!

It is clearly mistake of Amazon but their t&c will not allow any cc executive to give cashback or to cancel the order.
As we all know that Amazon agents are always active on Dd to keep an eye on P.E. and loot deals on Amazon.
So they must have looked at their mistake and pathetic policy.

So does it mean all gift cards are not eligible for SBI offer ? woohoo, ticket compliments, cleartrip etc etc ?
@Magus such confusion always exist with Amazon credit card / debit card offers lately. Even I faced similar situation with their agents in the past and hence stopped purchasing any sort of gift cards if I am purely relying on the cash back offers.
In a way Flipkart in this aspect as they are providing instant discount in most sales making it clear about the discount.
By the way, please make sure to update this thread in October to let people know if you actually received the cash back or not

Why till October? I’ve just written to Jeff with their resolution team in CC. I’ll take them for a ride just as they took me for one yesterday. WTF do they think about customers? Either they learn to play well or shut down and get the fcuk off to their caves. It’s not about cashback offers, it’s more a matter of dignity to me. Those buggers answered me quite callously all day. Because it was my money with them and not the other way round. I will show them who the boss is.

We appreciate when the service is good and criticize when it goes bad. You think I have any personal likes or dislikes towards these companies? Silly!
I will still say Amazon is better because had this happened with Flipkart, things would have been much worse. I’ll tell you why. Is quite a story. Can’t type it all on mobile. Wait for my update.

I’ve not even got an acknowledgement mail to my mail sent to Jeff at 8.30 this morning.
@Magus Relax, bro. The day hasn’t even started in Seattle yet.

Jeff welcomes direct emails from customers about any grievances. Look it up on Google.

Not at all! Amazon India customer service is often clueless about the details of their own promotions. And being clueless might be okay, depending on your POV, but giving incorrect answers just for the sake of giving an answer is not!
I learned to accept this problem with their customer service and never bother to contact any Amazon CSRs about clarifications for the T&Cs of a promotion. In case of any ambiguities, I rather go with my gut feel which comes from my experience with extensive purchases from Amazon.
But I am happy that Magus is willing to see this to the end.
@Magus Feel free to use the other point I mentioned to you via PM as another proof of their lack of competency.

What? Can’t they even change the misleading statements in the T&Cs? Is it such a difficult thing? Moreover, their CC is becoming dumber day by day.
