Yes, I was predicting price to be 16-17K due to excessive tax by our govt. But this price is truly insane.
Next, Imagine a 47 Inch Xiaomi IPS Panel Smart TV with quad core processor etc for 30K

Only 2 companies manufacture their phone at Foxconn : 1st is the well known brand called Xiaomi,
2nd one is a yesteryear brand called Apple.
To be honest, Once you will start using MIUI, you will forget about any other android flavor

Probably yes but it will take time as its customized(MIUI). But I guess you will get unofficial(Not from maker) one’s as soon as it releases because user base will be too high.

Bro, I personally feel it wasn’t overpriced at that time. You were getting a 6-7 month old flagship phone with some great features like active display and touchless control which no other phone had, for less than 25K. But yes, Motorola should have launched it in India earlier.
Now coming to Xiaomi, Mi 3 with its high-end specs is a steal @ 15K, there’s no doubt about it… but like I have said many times before, there’s much more to a phone than its specs and for most people it’s the overall package which matters (a fast phone with useful features, good design/battery life/display/camera etc.)
That being said, with its pricing, Xiaomi Mi 3 will take the market by storm and is likely to remain the best phone in its price range for quite some time to come. I hope companies like HTC and Samsung learn something from this.

I don’t know about HTC as it never learns !! But Samsung sure will !! I have worked there and hence can say that !! The advantage with samsung is they can cut down the production costs by hell lot due to their sensational supply chain !! I hope they respond to all the critics with gorgeous release in Coming months ! If not it takes no time to be doomed ! till then MI will rule the roost !
@Sam the thing with features like Active display and Gesture control was that they existed in the market market much before Moto Brought it out ! A simple xposed app installation with modules will give you tremendous power !! Moto just blatantly ripped off the feature from paranoid Android with Active display .!!
Also Moto X’s camera is not worth for what it is priced !!!!

overall reviews for the phone is good, but do check miui forums with respect to bugs. lots of bugs unanswered till date. do post fair reviews about product if any1 can.

I have used Xiaomi Mi2s for 3-4 months. There were some shortcomings in that phone, which i will write about later, but those shortcomings were only when i compared it to an ideal.
Few Facts about Xiaomi Phones:-
1) Xiaomi is pronounced = Shiao-Me or ShaoMi
2) We get 2 versions of ROM straight from the manufacturer. There is developer edition, which is rooted from the manufacturer itself.
So, You will have a rooted ROM which will get OTA updates!
3) Xiaomi Internal Memory is already partitioned into 2 System partitions. Without much hassle, newbies can put 2 ROMS on the device. So, you can have True Dual Boot

Have you ever checked a Android Kitkat buglist more than 10k bugs and only ~800 were resolved !!
And majority of them are Android bugs itself !! So they can’t fix it until google resolves everything !
And if you want to see a better unresolved bug list go to iOS dev portals . This considering the fact that Apple mostly uses closed source stuff !! Also in terms Hardware wireless capabilities that Android provides its nowhere near !! an open model Android will always have bugs
Mi3 is closed source till now. I wonder if they will release sources.
I hope stock 4.3 thats shipped with Mi3 doesn’t have any major bugs.

Yeah I know that but seems to be having few major bugs as mentioned in their forum.
As you will be obviously knowing, source built ROMS won’t be there which will be a bit let down.
