help buying a AC

room is of good insulation ,room will contain 1 PC and 1 bed .

Small room, so 1 Ton should be enough. What you will buy depends on your budget though. Recommended brands are, Daikin, Hitachi, O’General.

Do not go for split AC if u are living on rent. The copper pipes that are used have to be thrown when you move the AC to new place.

Go for 1.25 ton if you are living in areas where u have very hot weather, otherwise .75 would also do.

I would personally go for 1.25 ton

For an 8×8 size room , you don’t need anything more than .75 Ton.
If it is rented apartment, stick to good old window AC. .75T AC along with installation should not cost more than 15-16k.

If it’s your own house, buy 0.75T Inverter ac of Sharp.

buy Hitachi or Daikin. inverter model will be costly.

Sharp still uses Aluminium coiling right? So no go.

I don’t have any knowledge about air conditioners at that budget, but I am quite sure OP won’t be able to get a 5 or 4 star unit in that budget. So he might look for a 3 star unit, as long as he chooses to stick with recommended brands.

PS: 1.25 ton will be an overkill for that room size by the way, unless you want to keep the machine on for very short period of time and have the conditioned air stay more in the room, which is a bad idea anyway. I use a 1.25 in my 14×12, never had any problem, in fact that’s what was recommended.

If your budet allows, go blindly for an inverter AC.

I have got a sharp inverter AC installed in my in-laws house in chennai and the electricity savings has been really great. On an average a 1 ton 3 star split ac consumes around 1 unit of electricity in an hour. On the other hand sharp inverter ac’s consumes less than .4 units in an hour. If you want run the ac’s for long duration , inverter’s are the way to go.
