The moment i saw the word yashoda hospitals i thought the OP is in trouble. Though it is one of the leading private hospital in the city it is known for notoriously expoiting patients. There were few case when they kept fully fit ppl in ICU for weeks and looted and i even heard of a case where they fakes for giving treatment to already dead person and dint allow the family members to see the patient till the end.

Anyways i hope they have changed their mentality. These days even govt 108 ambulances are taking patients directly to yashoda hospital as the Hospitals chairman has a very good relationship with CM KCR. Even local MLAs and MPs are visitng that hospital instead of NIMS or gandhi hospital.

At this moment @heart_attacker Plz make sure u do this:
→ Bring your family doctor or anyone in that field in your friends/relatives circle. These hospital ppl dont explain us anything and keep our fingers crossed till last moment. So if u have someone in that field there r chances that They know what xactly is happening inside.
→ Make sure that u visit your mother everyday and some point of time and see what medication they r giving.
→ since TRS recntly won the municipality elections meet the corporator in your area and ask for help. I am sure he would help you as the entire party is rejoiced by the result.

Visit on 7th Feb 2016
1. Went to hospital around ~4:20PM and waited at lobby
2. Called @heart_attacker and he came down
3. We went to near Udipi had dosa, juice & tea
4. Spoke to him about mothers situation and he told what all happened

4. Met heart_attacker’s elder borther in person at near by hotel again and spoke to him on a lengthy note if he knows what his younger brother is doing

1. heart_attacker seems to be a guy who is not able to understand the situation and also how to help his elder brother financially, so he posted on forums to see if he gets some financial help so he can be a helping hand to his brother. From him I understood he got a job recently
2. His elder brother is working with TCS from ~6 years {worklocation and his residence both are near to me}, so I spoke to him as he is a better guy to judge the situation and tell what exactly he/they are looking out for
3. As working in MNC we/he has medical insurance coverage, so when I asked about that he said they paid Rs. 50,000 in advance and the treatment till date is covered under cashless hospitilzation (hope you guys know what that means) upto 8Lakhs. He don’t know how much amount the final bill will shoot upto so he is also worried.
4. Elder brother seems to have got married Jan 25 2015, so he seems to be having budget constraints about taking a loan etc.,

My view

Case is genuine, if we don’t care about their financial status (if they can afford or not) then its a GO for us to help instead of wasting time arguing here.

2. I also asked his elder brother, if the total bill is some where around ~10-12 then 8L (Free Cashless hosptilization)+YourMoney should be enough to take care of the expenses
3. In case if the total bill amount is less, than I said him whatever the money you get from DesiDime please transfer it back to some charity or NGO (as per @anthrax.ut) after the full and final settlement to hosptial
4. For few questions like why they joined mother in Yashoda (Because yashoda hospital is too costly in hyderabad)— When she was down the nearest hosptial is it, so they rushed her there.
5. Why heart_attacker selling uber rides and talking about freecharge when mother is in ICU – I too don’t know the answer for this, but when I asked him the same he is also blank so its probably a situation where he couldn’t understand what to do in hospital in his idle time.
6. 13L letter as earlier shown is estimated charge for hosptilization for 30days, the final bill may be high or less than that. Its an estimated cost sheet.

Any questions please let me know, I will try to see if I have answers.

Many thanks for the point wise detail. Now it seems no need to rush as of now, we need to wait till Mother is well and duly discharged from the hospital. Lets hope for Best.
We need to take this as a lesson for future scenario that may arises. We missed a lot of time in assessing the situation and handling the donations. At least we need to make a team of 3-4 members that will step-in to coordinate the necessary steps in situations similar to this.

Please don’t consider me heartless , but after reading “Achilles” post it seems that OP is good at heart , but he really doesn’t need any financial help .. as most of the amount will be covered by insurance and whatever extra bill comes , both the sons can take loan and pay in part by hard working latter (this is what whole world do) .

Brothers and sisters the update is my brothers Hr replied that they cannot help further. As i said my family donot have any good financial background and my brother is the one who hrlprd to complete my post graduation (5 laks) and as @Achilles said he also arranged for his marriag and ppl may know what was the situation of tata 6yrs back his salary was below 20k when he joined i know that personally. Once again thanks for ur love and support. Nothing else i need to say. Thank u all lovely dimers. The ppl gave estimated is about to reach and they didn’t even know till where it may reach.
