So I have got a patch on my light blue jeans of months old daal / gravy which is not going even after washing. Any tips to remove this stain? Like vinegar, etc?
How did you manage months old dal on your jeans…
Well I was too lazy to wash jeans since many months.

Its the stain from turmeric in the gravy thats still holding on. A base/alkali is the solution. If you can find NaOH (Sodium Hydroxide) flakes in the market it will serve the purpose. Make a dilute solution and apply with a ear bud in the spot. Turmeric stain will turn red and go away. Rinse thoroughly immediately. Else Domex (which has NaClO, Sodium Hypochlorite as the active ingredient), will also work. Apply the same way as above. The disadvantage with Sodium Hypochlorite is that it is also a bleaching agent. So the cleaned spot will also bleach and whiten.
Cut a lemon, dip the piece in little baking soda and rub over the stain and dry in the sun.
If the stain is only yellow because of turmeric, just drying in the sun without doing anything will remove that yellow mark.
