I have a Kobo touch, and it is an excellent device for readng epub books. I have read many books on it. I bought this Glo now, and expect even more reading, as it has a backlight. Thanks a lot OP for sharing this.

People who are interested in reading, rather than buying crap tablets at 4-5k, but this one. This is an investment that will pay off in terms of knowledge. Lowest price ever for this reader.

Any one know, what is cost of ebooks on this one. I check review on CNET and look like, ebooks are very costly on Kobo.

It supports epub & pdf which are quite generic. You can use calibre to convert from any source.

You can read any epub book – pirated or bought from some other store. You don’t need to buy them from Kobo exclusively

Anybody please tell about the customer service quality of Kobo India. There are virtually no reviews on the internet. Is the seller selling Indian version of Kobo? Is Kobo going to honour warranty of this ereader selling at half the original price?

Can we copy pdf ebook in this and read??

if really want to do reading why not buy the kindle from amazon, Kindle and Nook are the most trusted readers also they are backed Amazon and Barns and Noble.

Kindle devices dont allow you to add your own files iirc.

The Nook from B&N does.

I received mine today. The item has a lot of defects, screen flickering, unstable UI.
The shipping was done a year back, so the seller was clearing his unsold stock, which has some defective pieces.
So, these are kind of factory seconds. Defective pieces at lesser than half the original price.

@Secretagent Thanks for posting such an awesome deal. Been a long time dd lurker. Decided to join and write about the Kobo Glo. I was probably the 1st to order the Kobo Glo through this deal. Device arrived in 3-4 days. Updated it to latest firmware. The device is simply superb and vfm when it comes to reading ebooks and specially epubs downloaded from other sources on the net. The backlight is a saviour while reading in the dark. The kindle paperwhite which features similar light but slightly lower specs especially the sd card support and out of box epub support. I already finished reading a book on it and onto my next book. Awesome device and would recommend anyone to go for it.

@debapriyag It isnt a defective device. E-ink readers update or rather refresh pages in the same manner. It isn’t a lcd/led screen and so don’t expect the refresh rate of those displays. Rest assured there is nothing defective above that behaviour. Will post some pics of the reader soon.

i got mine as well…it asked me to update it while booting up. i updated with my computer but it stuck in mid between and was not restarting….i have to remove its back cover and put out the internal sd card of 2 GB and i have to put it back in initial state by taking backup of old file system from someone on kobo mobiforum.

pathetic experience – it took some scratches on back panel while removing it with pin….but finally i have got it running…so still not a bad deal for KOBO GLO (even if it is bad stock, i got it working via searching on forums) in 4.5k for me…:-}

As for reviews you can check out TR or Engadget. Both have rated it an excellent 8/10. Cnet, digital trends etc have rated it high as well.http://www.engadget.com/products/kob…o/
