I prefer a-la-carte option, Not going for there package deal, Which is useless many time if you are choosy…

Not all DTH operators advertise as it is customer friendly.. Just pay for the channel you need in a-la-carte option.. You could save a lot more..

TRAI has mandated a-la-carte option for DTH consumers but all DTH operators keep this option deep under there website.

IMHO a-la-carte option is useless for paid channels (atleast incase of airtel)

When I checked this option, it came around Rs520…but when selecting the available packages + add-on channels its Rs390

Mine Comes around 170/- Per month, I am having Airtel using for close to 3 years.. The advantage is you can add/remove channels whenever required also rotate English Movies channel like every 3/6 months (best of all worlds), Below is the channel list;

If you are heavy user, packages are only option even if you don’t watch other channel you pay for..

I understand but TRAI had set max limit they can charge for Pay Channels, Shoot a mail to airtel saying you want a-la-carte option with channel list and they will send you a valid quote/monthly payable amount… You can follow up with them if they quote higher amount for channels and use it as proof and complaint it to TRAI..

For airtel, if you have HD box, then you must take minimum 2 HD channels, that means minimum 50rs extra per month, even if you want only SD package. Now since we must pay rs 50 minimum, people will always prefer to go for 100+Rs hd package which offers a lot of HD channels..

I had upgraded from Aritel SD → HD+ year back for 999rs, I got promotional 2 months HD pack but after than I don’t have any HD channels under my subscription after that except my subscription for WC2015 then later removed it..

Are you taking about package or anything different?

i just booked a hd airtel box…and before that i needed to confirm about the SD on HD…so i contacted airtel and they said we can do normal SD package if we dont need HD

I am looking for Airtel HD+ set top box with Rest of India Mega HD package for 12 months

1. I do not find Mega HD package after selecting Rest of India set top box.

2. Selected Rest of india HD+ set top box for discounted price of Rs1480(Actual shown is 1880)

3. Taken to the package screen, all are 1 month packages(filter is on ‘Any validity’). Mega package is availablle for Rs 280(actual price Rs500)

Total Cost for a Airtel HD + with 1 month Rest of India Mega pack is Rs1760

Airtel Website sells the same for Rs 1750 with 45 days of Mega HD

For 1480 you get VALUEMAX HD or ECONOMY SPORTS HD or VALUE PRIME HD———-1 month free.

Where in airtel website u need to pay addition 200-300 for this and since you are buying only box savings are less go for 1 year 2 year packages then u will see 500-600 discount.

take any simplest box available from market..
cost around 12-1500 and get it installed.it comes with 1-2 months free pack.

in that duration use diff offers from paytm and freecharge or other…they almost give offers every other day..
dont recharge if not getting 50% or more..almost a crime now to recharge for lesser discounts.
upgrade to hd or hd+ box according to ur need from ur main acc balance will cost maxm rs999.
