When I bought a “Venus” analog scale from SHOPCLUES (back when shopclues reputation wasn’t infamous yet), I got some random Chinese company scale with its price written in Australian dollars on the box. It worked, but had a stiff dial which got stuck about 1-2kg away from real weight instead of oscillating smoothly and coming to a stop at the correct weight, which I corrected with a bit of WD40 and grease after opening the scale. Since it was dirt cheap, I didn’t think it was worth the hassle of returning.

Bought a Venus black digital scale from Paytm about 2 months ago for Rs. 330 (after 50% cashback). Got the genuine product. No complaints (the scale isn’t as precise as claimed, repeated readings will vary by 100-200g, but its effective resolution is still higher than analog scales and more than one can expect for the price)

The size of the scale surface isn’t too small, I think it’ll vary by model to model. It’s mentioned in the description. Mine is 280mm x 280mm. If in doubt, get a ruler and draw a square of the mentioned size to get an approximation of the size before buying it.

The scale I bought for Rs. 330 will be available at Rs. 409 with the current discount. I think it’s still worth it.
