I had purchased more then 3 HDDs for my friends about an year ago and all are working fine. No issues.
Please do note that it has a proprietary power connector so if you loose it.. it might be difficult to find a new one and it will be costly too. Apart from this, no issues so far. It is sleek, light weight and good looking.
At this price it is really good deal. I had purchased them at about Rs.3700 at that time.

No external power is required, however, generally, HDDs have USB + MicroUSB connectors while is has different propriety one.
