yes tech bhai… even me too
480mbps ?
which coupon applies to make it for Rs. 199.. its shows 299 .. reply asap..:)
please remember the transfer speed mentioned is USB specification, not the actual transfer speed of the drive.
What is usb’s transfer rate is missing from the page.
read description bro (give that speed in eSATA port)
same coupons as mentioned above

i am unable to verify that information, can you please cite a source/review or specs for that.
that would be very helpful.
thanks

From Wiki Page link : – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/…Ap
eSATAp throughput is necessarily the same as SATA, and USB throughput is that of the USB version supported by the port (typically USB 3.0 or 2.0). eSATAp ports (bracket versions) can run at a theoretical maximum of 6 Gbit/s (bits per sec) and are backwards compatible with devices such as eSATA 3 Gbit/s (SATA Revision 2) and also at 1.5 Gbit/s (SATA Revision 1). The USB port is fully compatible with USB 5 Gbit/s (USB 3.0), USB 480 Mbit/s (USB 2.0) and USB 12 Mbit/s (1.1); USB 3.0 devices are compatible, but will operate at USB 2.0 speed if internal USB 3.0 connector is not connected.

VU gr8 deal
just a small suggestion….instead of paying Rs. 50 as just shipping charges
better add a card reader which also cost Rs. 50
http://www.futurebazaar.com/quantum-qhm-5067-ca...
if not that they you may also look at lot of Amar Chitra Katha books that are available for Rs. 20 (a lot of these are in french, hindi )

oops my bad….earlier that wasnt the case with FB
its mbit and not MB
1 mbit= approx 125 kbps
so 480 mbits/s= 58 mbps approx
so mods, plz add this info to the topic

Thanks for helping me in this Bro….even i know it now actually..but still 58 mb/s is also good for a pen drive at this rate
yp..how dare they do that…us Dimers are the OFFICIAL LOOTERE’S no one beats us

480Mbps is just theoretical limit according to USB 2.0 standard. Every USB 2.0 pendrive can achieve this only in theory. Don’t go by that number.. it will be much lower in real life.
well first of all the price is nice, but i would prefer sandisk for 419 rather 399 for trek, because it is going to have an open connector which i might damage in my pockets and san disks are of higher quality than any other available.
next whoever is trying to explain the transfer speed, lemme clear the cloud for you.
1mbps = 1024kilobits/sec
since 1byte = 8bits
1mbps = 128KB/sec
similarly
480mbps = 61440 KB/sec = 60MB/sec
now there are three points to keep in mind:
1. the transfer will happen at this speed when the conditions are ideal and according to the assumptions made by the designer (which is never the case, because they assume that the bus speed, memory read write speed along with other resources are infinite )
2. to support those rates the media you are copying from/to (generally your HDD or Cd-drive) you will need to have read write speed greater than 60MB/sec which will never be possible in case of regular magnetic disks (though I won’t be surprised to see an SSD perform much much better).
3. Almost all pen drives in the market support equivalent “theoretical” transfer rates. but on regular usage you will get ~20MB/sec read and ~10MB/sec write rate.
So these stats are only to lure in the non-techie kind.
All the best!
Happy Purchasing!
good deal
i have already ordered two.
