I have ordered a Dell Inspiron laptop from the seller clickbuy.in listed at ebay.in. The seller has given a bogus bluedart AWB number at ebay site without actually shipping the product. I was out of station to my hometown for one week time due to my family reasons. Meanwhile the ebay system has auto confirmed that the item is received. I came back and was shocked to see this. Then raised a case with eBAY guarantee system (also called as Resolution center) on 26th March 2012 saying that the “Item not received”. Till now I have not received my money back even after contacting ebay for 5 times. eBAY is keep on telling that they are waiting for Seller response. One of friend is also facing a similar problem and for him they are telling that refund will take 15 days. Overall my rating for eBAY gurantee system is ZERO. I welcome all dimers experience with eBAY guarantee system here. Let us be an eye opener to our fellow dimers.

Ebay guarantee system is not ZERO. It really works. They guarantee you that your money is safe and that you will receive the product as described. But you cannot just ignore their emails and later claim that ebay guarantee doesn’t work.
btw cm, i bought a card reader for 5 bucks using 50 off coupon. i got it in 3 days but got no email/sms/fax/pager/voice mail from ebay about shipment. interestingly it was there in my account as “seller has shipped”. so not always ebay sends notification for shipment.

Thats surprising.
Its their duty to keep you updated. If they don’t and something goes wrong, then they’re themselves responsible. And resolution center will come handy at such times.
This is only review about eBAY guarantee system. I knew that I have done mistake by not looking at their alerts on time. But this thread is opened mainly to share only your experience with eBAY guarantee system. This is just to get fellow dimers opinion on whether eBAY guarantee system works as smoothly as they claim. Note that I have already done 20 transaction with ebay. This is the first time I am reaching out to ebay gurantee system and came across a bad experience with that.
@Vasanth, Nothing by the book actually but it totally depends on how you present your case to them, confidence is the key here, if they find your claims plausible enough, I am fairly certain that they would bail you out of this situation. Since the amount paid for is relatively huge in this case.

raised a case
nothing happened since 1 month
still they are waiting for seller responce
they are dumbshit as hell
but my issue was quite small 100 or 150 bucks
but beware
ebay.in is full of shithole sellers who sell roadside stuff at sky high price with sky high shipping charges and also full of delhi ka chors
Bhai don’t put the blame entirely on Ebay.
Before autoconfirming, ebay always sends a warning on Email as well as SMS (& you’ll get the warning even if DND is activated on your sim card.)
When the deadline of delivery passes, ebay emails you next day that if you have not received the product, please go to ebay account and mark as item not received. They autoconfirm only if you don’t take any action in the next 5 days.
In my opinion, if you bought an expensive product like a laptop, you should have followed up your emails/messages in ebay account atleast once in every 2-3 days.
