Fashion and You - Bad experience

How long has it been since your order qwerty? After dealing with other websites I realized how quick the shipping actually is, and FnY unnecessarily takes months to ship their orders.

I think i ordered on 20th June after calling the CC and confirming with them that i will get the delivery by 15-20 days. 15+ days have passed but no sign of shipping :(

I received a broken ceramic platter from F&U. I mailed them a photo and they called me. They refunded full amount back to my card and also refunded the store credit after subtracting 100 as shipping charge from store credit within a week.

I did not have to return the broken platter as it was no use to them or me :-) So this was my only experience with them when I wanted to return the product. I have placed about 16 orders with them and am quite happy.

BTW, they accept returns for defective goods so you could ship them the product and they refund around 130 per kg as courier charges.

I had gone through their return policy which says

No returns, refunds or exchanges will be accepted on the following items:

• Home Décor

Considering the hassles and negative reviews I came across when I started searching for FnY complaints I decided not to return the item. As for the jeans Im just wearing a belt. Its not ideal, but manageable. But I could have at least tried returning the home decor item, which I didnt.

@thedealer, even I read that clause in their policy but decided to email the photos. They did not say that they will not return/refund a home decor product (a ceramic platter). I felt they were cooperative and trusted the photo that I sent them. If they wanted, they could have bothered me by asking me to return the product but in my case the broken platter was useless to either party and they simply refunded the amount+credit. I only lost 100 rupees credit as delivery charge.

I did have to follow up once for the refund but I was very happy with their cooperation.

BUT I realised that its best not to order big bulky products especially fragile ones which would be costly to return. They have a cap of 130/kg and that is not enough in most cases.

Its a good site to get bargains on Zippos/accessories and I really like their friend referral policy. They give 1000 off on 2000 credits. So I get a good deal always.

This was with regards to Order #240936 which was purchased on 14/02/2011, delivered on 03/28/2011 at 8:30 PM. The item in question is the Desecho Trash Bin (that’s whats written on your website), whats written on the product is ‘Alteze’. It was purchased for Rs 1350+ (Dont remember the exact amount, but was lesser than 1400). The first thing we noticed about the product we received was obviously the dent, but we were more disappointed with the quality of the bin itself. It claims to be made of steel, but was easily malleable. Why else would it be in such bad shape after shipping? (Unless a car ran over it or something). We would not have bought the product in say Shopper’s stop/Westside if we would have seen the actual quality of the product. The photos of the product on the FnY were good and we didnt think the quality would be a letdown.

Layer of dust on the bin. 100% Unused, not even dust has gone inside the bin since it was closed all the time. Somehow never felt like using it, despite spending Rs 1350+ for the same.

Well I have the same issue as thedealer.

I ordered an Alteze Trash Bin and got one with a big dent and broken paint. See the image below.

I did not raise a complaint as its out of my scope to ship a trash bin back to F&U at my own expense. I wish they had a reverse pickup service. I’m using it anyway but feel it is a factory second and worth less than what I paid for it.

I thought if was a one off thing with me but thedealer too faced the same issue.

F&U please comment if you sell defective/factory seconds or the Quality Check is just a sticker or the courier partner has no respect for our consignments?

I am surprised that even you bought a similar Alteze product! It’s a literal case of throwing your money into the bin :(
I felt that it was a refurbished item too.
