@Amolverma.6 told you the same na, sometimes ago?!
Thanks @vijayho for tagging.
you never sent alert for my deals
bro, i don’t see the name of OP before sending the alert i hope only this single line is sufficient for your question.

@srocks Your purpose for creating this thread was not clear from the first post. But once I went through the posts by others, it became clear to me that you trying to highlight the “self-promotion” strategy adopted by some dimers to get vote ups and FPD suggestions for their own deals. I completely agree that this is wrong and should be treated as self-promotion.
In fact, I recently PM’ed @vijayho to stop doing it after consistently receiving tag notifications from him on his own deals.
@G@urav You are absolutely correct, this is indeed promoting a quid-pro-quo culture for deal posters. I have publicly spoken against the same culture for Karma points on multiple occasions.
@VaibhavJain You are right that sending a deal alert for your own deal should also be frowned upon! Please refrain from doing this. “Feedback” is something that people automatically provide when they are interested. Asking for it by tagging somebody in your own deal is nothing but “self-promotion”.
@dexter1989 Since you are an active deal poster, I would love to hear your thoughts about this abuse.
Sir,
I would like to inform you that a month ago Nigel Sir told me that we can tag other desidimers until they are having no issue in receiving notifications.
If its not the legal thing then why no action was taken by admin team after all they monitors our all activities ?
If you don’t want to receive notification then you can simply tell about this thing to that particular dimer but why their is need of doing like this ????
lol… this is like those telemarketers calling us and saying, if u dont like simply say no why shout on us….
@vijayho IMO, you can tag them only after taking their approval prior. Not that you tag them and ask them to let you know for stopping those, thats too bad a marketing practice and outright illegal.
If you already took permission or acceptance of tagging from those whomever you have tagged, absolutely no issues and you are 100% right with your actions.
Sir,
Did I ever tagged you ?
I tag only those great desidimers who are cool with me
You want to imply @DealSeeker is not great

i disagree on your thoughts of not sending alerts of your own deal and tagging others as tagging means we aren’t forcing them to suggest and vote up. we only want to let them know about the deal and if they aren’t having any problem with this. of course if your deal is having 100 suggestions but deal is not worthy then be assured it will not be fpd. Don’t know why Srocks is keep on trying to get attention by doing these things !! as it wasn’t a first time when he did this

No issues if you disagree. Perhaps you are clear about your reasons. But I can not condone massive tagging of other users to draw attention to your own deal. I know the admins have recently realized this “quid-pro-quo” culture for the deals and have now stopped promoting the deals just based on the number of FPD suggestions. But do you not realize the following?
(1) Unnecessary FPD suggestions and vote ups just because of your affinity to the deal poster kill the purpose of these two crucial community features. By doing this, you and other deal posters are passing the power of actually promoting good deals from the hands of the entire community to only the admins!
(2) Newbies who do not know about such “tactics” will miss out and will have a genuine reason to cry about discrimination.
(3) Most importantly, whenever you tag other dimers who you consider to be friendly towards you, they will feel obligated to vote up, suggest, and even comment in your deal thread. This will result in some other genuine deals to get pushed down and possibly ignored!
@anthrax.ut @bumblefoot Please clarify your stance on this issue and, if required, please create a rule to stop this abuse. CC @admin

nope. no one ever tagged me for deals.
but i think i am free to share my opinion.
And so called great desidimers may also feel forced to go through your tags but not be ready to tell u openly. So its always good and respectful to take their approval. an unsolicited tag may be considered spam. so just trying to tell u so that you can check. not that i am against you or your fans jus trying to help

Few months back some dimer pmed me that -
“you Scratch mine (Suggest FP) , i will Scratch yours "
but even in this case final decision was on me , whether i will get myself involved in these kind of cheap tactics or not .
Similarly , I will become your fan you will become mine .. and the list goes ON .
This raises a doubt , say group of 20 dimers makes a pact of suggesting each other , voting up etc etc .. and hey will use tag feature to notify each other , thus exploiting the system .
Things like this needs to be handled carefully , lots of work and research for the staff and coming out with some good decision which will benefit all .

Sir,
Our Admin Team keeps track of everything and they don’t promote any deal without verifying it even if that deal is suggested by more then 20 dimers
If your deal is voted down by someone but that deal is really a great deal then admin team will make it as FPD.
So how can you call tagging someone as self-promotion ?
We tag great desidimers only to get feedback on that specific deal and not for vote-ups and suggestions
Today I am feeling really bad because one of great contributor to this forum called this thing as self-promotion .
I will stop tagging great desidimers if admin team also think that its not a legal thing.
Now I am waiting for final reply by our admin team.
Thank You
@newdduser @bk08 issue is not just about tagging particular individuals and taking permission…. It might have been cool even till now…. But when a person X tags an individual and then immediately edits that tagging with a misleading comment say " updated the details" “updated with comparison” trying to hide tracks then something seems out of track.
I mean even replacing with a statement saying hidden tag for interested users would do, why hide the act.
Either you are ashamed of the act , or may be it’s not allowed.
i have a question…
