Chat Option not working
Anyone else facing the issue?
Can’t Open Chat Page at all
It says ‘Something Went Wrong’
Rest of the site is working Fine

Not working sir. I mean now individual chats are not working. One has to refresh everytime after sending any msg

Nothing bro. Tagged you here just to let you know. I coulcouldn’t reply to your pm as chat is not working for me. When i tap on send it doesn’t get sent and when i refresh to check it gets sent multiple times

thanks:) i realised it sometime past 1100 hours in the morning as the alert counter never went down clicking on direct links of whatever chats i assumed are showing ‘unread’.

yes, for most part of the day, there was a blackout in so far as sending/receiving was concerned. But since late afternoon or rather evening it seemed to have worked partially.
you are right @GCA in that the ‘send’ button with the stupid paper plane icon [which assumes that all users are android or whatsapp users and thus they (users) know what that graphic is)]
you are right @GoogleCA in that the ‘send’ button with the stupid paper plane icon has often not performed its desired function or at-least the chat interface is just buggy to never register the command to refresh the interface 
from what I’ve noticed, the chats module of the site has always invariably been slower than the forums module and and avoidable irritant which flushes out the recent received pings too even if we send messages to 5-6 people. (the base link page simply replaces received messages with the sent messages on the mobile site or the left pane on desktop site.)
but if these guys are not in a position to respond (or do not ‘want’ to respond) then one can either fume.. or ignore and live with it. I try to do the latter. http://www.desidime.com/searches/http-www-desid...

when you tap on send @GCA it DOES get sent, the great thing is that the chat’s designers just don’t want the page to refresh to its correct/ updated state.
your pings did get repeated thrice (total 4 times) but that dwarfs against what I got today [20-Marc-2016] morning.
and an hour later when @saymyname posted a ping http://www.desidime.com/forums/dost-and-dimes/t... then it was obvious that it’ll be a slow day. [Sundays on DD invariably are.]
@GoogleCA @Spock As a stop-gap solution to the “chat not refreshing after hitting send”, instead of refreshing the entire page, try to click on your chat with some other user on the left pane and then come back. This is what I have been doing since noticing the bug in the morning and all my chat messages are being sent only once.

happens only on certain portions of the site. For Eg.: http://www.desidime.com/blog/author/vandana/p...3/ blog is isolated and not affected.

although if on computer: I simply ‘manually’ hard refresh http://www.desidime.com/chats in a new tab after sending any chat so the page loads the data

Bro i m on mobile. There’s no such option. I’ve pm’ed @Nigel 5-6 regarding issues that i m facing but looks like nothing has been done. Sometimes i think they themselves do not want to improve in certain areas. Like i think 8-9 months ago i requested admin through a thread to add edit feature (Not available on mobile site) for main post and it was said that it would be available in a week or so but see it has not been done till now. Reminded them once 2-3 months ago. I don’t think they are serious about the mobile or the app users. Every week the site is down for few hours.

All he meant to say was that to edit the first post in any of your own threads, you can follow the below steps.
(1) you can get the postid of your first post from the timestamp link (postid is the 7-digit number at the end of the URL)
(2) then copy the edit link from any of your other posts in the same thread (or another thread once you get the hang of this)
(3) replace the postid in the URL obtained from step 2 with the postid obtained in step 1
(4) now visit this modified URL from step 3 to be able to access the edit screen for your first post.
