Amazon has launched a new vertical called ‘Bazaar’ for users to enjoy low priced shopping via unbranded but quality products. A glimpse of Amazon Bazaar showed t-shirts at ₹129, sneakers under ₹250, and watches under ₹200 so makes it similar to SoftBank’s Meesho, Flipkart’s Shopsy, and Reliance’s Ajio Street.

All the products on Amazon Bazaar are in the price range of ₹100-₹600. Categories include apparels, watches, shoes, jewellery, home, kitchen, kids, and other budget ones. Also, clothing, accessories, jewellery, handbags, shoes, traditional & western wear, kitchenware, towels, bed linens, and décor items are highlighted.

On the launch of Amazon Bazaar, the company said:-

“We continue to invest and innovate on behalf of our customers and third-party sellers and are excited to introduce the Amazon Bazaar storefront on Amazon.in where customers can discover and shop ultra-affordable fashion and home products listed by sellers, especially from manufacturing hubs across India.”

Since Amazon Bazaar has a low average selling price (ASP), sellers get the benefit of zero referral fees, and in-turn Amazon benefits from a huge low tier audience traction. Besides, you can also grab Amazon Fashion offers to get the price dropped.

Just like others in this segment, Amazon Bazaar’s collection is also inspired by global pioneers such as Zara, H&M, Uniqlo, Westside, and Lifestyle.

Amazon also started its Live Commerce section a few months back, and is now heavily working on it to bring in user engagement. You can get discounts with Amazon Promo Codes here!

Why did Amazon launch Bazaar?

Amazon faced slow growth on their main mass-market branded products with only 13% user rise (as per Bernstein’s report) in December 2023. Report also says that Meesho leads this low-cost budget shopping market with zero commission fees, ahead of Shopsy.

Bernstein (research firm) also reported:-

“India’s e-commerce category mix is changing. Mobiles and Consumer electronics share is declining. Fashion has seen the strongest growth since FY19, and now holds the highest category share.”

Amazon has invested $11+ billion in India as it is among its key overseas markets. This has got AWS on top in India, but still it lacks behind Walmart’s Flipkart as an e-commerce marketplace. These are the reasons why Amazon has come up with the low-cost shopping vertical ‘Bazaar’.

How to Download the Amazon Bazaar App and Start Shopping?

The ‘Bazaar’ section is in the Amazon App itself. You will find it on the top left corner of the homepage after opening the app. It comes with the ‘NEW’ tag so you can find it easily. If it doesn’t show up here then search for ‘Amazon Bazaar’ to get access. If still not then you will have to wait as Amazon has started rolling out Bazaar from tier 2, 3, and other lower cities in an ascending order. Make a note that you don’t need to update the Amazon App to get the Bazaar section. Also, Bazaar is available exclusively on the Amazon App so you cannot shop from the Amazon website.

After you have access to Amazon Bazaar, shop regularly as you do on Amazon. You can pay via COD, Amazon Pay wallet, Amazon Shopping Voucher, credit/debit cards, or netbanking. Amazon Bazaar promises 3-5 days delivery even for Prime members because of low price items.

Shein was also a popular low-cost fashion shopping hub before it faced ban in India. Last year, Reliance Retail promised to get Shein back with a partnership but still nothing on board. Let’s see how Amazon Bazaar fares as Myntra is also rumoured to come up with something similar for its huge user base.

The title in the article is quite misguiding  "How to Download Amazon Bazaar App" 😂

There is no separate app for Amazon Bazaar. Its a new service like Amazon Fresh and available right inside the existing Amazon app. I have not verified if the section is available to all users as of now. I do not see it on my app yet. You can try and confirm.

As per Google search, here is easy to follow instructions on how you can access Amazon Bazaar:

- Download and install the latest Amazon appl

- Open the Amazon mobile app and sign in.

- Click on the ‘Baazaar’ icon on the top left of the home screen to begin shopping for affordable items on Amazon's Bazaar.
