Yes return is costly but instant of wasting 11 hrs by road fr delhi to manali ,we can fly one way in cheap and return we can come to shimla and back to Chandigarh or delhi by road .so one way we save lot of time

Make return arrangements before onward journey, as the cost is 15k+ just for return.
Don’t know if helicopter service still on, or would be functional, under the conditions, some roads,highways being closed with possibility of avalanche and landslide.
