What is the use of this?
I have airtel nokia modem 5g and its range is very low just in Hall it works. Will this device help to fix that?how can we utilise this?should I configure this along with nokia modem. Or just seperately
5GHz band has a range issue. That will be a problem in every router because 5GHz band can not penetrate through walls and other obstacles as easily as the 2.4 GHz does.
This router stick does not say anywhere that it can be used as an Access Point so most likely you’ll have to connect it to your router through a wire as these routers have only one WiFi card per band that can either work as a receiver or an access point. That will not solve your issues.
I suggest you look into 5GHz WiFi repeaters. You can also check out routers that can be used as an access point wirelessly if you know how to configure static IPs.
The best solution would be to get a Mesh WiFi network but those can be too costly and almost never justify their cost for household use.
Can someone highlight the actual utility of this device?
its just a wifi adapter for PC
it seems that it will be useful for those who don’t have a wifi receiver in their computers….better to look for repeater/extender devices, as they will do this as well other functions also.
Looks like, this WIFI Adapter has driver support for macOS Catalina (Not sure about BigSur)
