you will have to get seperate speakers for it, and it maybe difficut to use w/o remote

Generally Tvs are cheaper than monitors of same size ( economies of scale being the prime reason ). I would suggest you look for a TV if you need a TV. But if what you need is a monitor, then you need to weigh your options between a monitor and a TV.
One major difference is the pixel density. Monitors have higher pixer density. They are made for viewing from a closer distance compared to TVs. High pixel density is not needed if you are sitting a bit farther from the screen.

Is it good idea to use it as TV for old aged (70+) ? Connection to hdmi dth.
